How do I delete songs from my Sandisk Sansa e260??

I've had it for over a year now and I can't seem to find a way to delete my songs. I've tried looking through 'My Computer' but the music file isn't there. And I can't delete songs using Windows Media Player. I've tried to ask other people for help and they say the music file can sometimes be "hidden" what does that mean and how do I make it "unhidden"??? It's really getting on my nerves...Please help!!

Re: How do I delete songs from my Sandisk Sansa e260??

To make unhidden open up any folder on your computer on the top click tools the folder options click the view tab at top Click button next show hidden files & folders You could also try to format it To format plug it in to usb. Go to my computer It shows up as a removably disc, usually drive f: Right click on drive f: (or the approriate drive) and click format. Let me know what happens, you will have reload the player, also try bypassing the software you are using to tranfer, by opening up drive f: and clicking and dragging your music into it , or you can copy and paste it into drive f: Good Luck

I cannot delete songs from Sansa E260

Ok, Sansa made it a little difficult this time,

"Connect your player, of course. Go to "My Computer" > "Sansa e260". There are hidden files. To unhide go to "Tools" (located on the menu bar) > "Folder Options..." > hit the "View" tab > select "Show hidden files and folders". You will see more folders to appear in a faded color. Click on the "MUSIC" folder. Click on the artist, then album then select the song, right click and down to delete." --Yahoo Answers

Can't seem to delete the songs

try connecting in MSC mode of the USB settings - then using windows or mac or linux to delete files. In MSC mode the player should be recognised as a bog standard usb storage device. The files are have the hidden attribute set, so you must enable show all files in Windows or you won't see the Music directory they are in.

SanDisk Sansa e260

When it comes to deleting songs, I went on the program I use to get my music on and clicked on the sansa 260 and found my playlist. I bet if you connect your sansa and look around that program, you could probably find your playlist and start deleting.
