SOURCE: samsung syncmaster 920nw comes on and then goes off

The problem can be bad power suuply due to bad caps, bad inverter circuits, bad lamps. Look for bad caps first then report back what you see inside so we can guide you further, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors due to bad caps here: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

SOURCE: Syncmaster paower button blinking and no display

Ultimately I had to return the monitor to Best Buy where I Originaly purchased it. Luckily I had purchased it between Thanksgiving and Christmas when the the store had a 1 yr exchange policy. They had to send it back to " have a card replaced" ( They're words). Took about 3wks to get it back no charge. Seems to work fine for now but who knows how long this will last. Will probably be my lasy Samsung

OK, I've figured it out! There's something wrong with the control chip, so if you don't have it under warranty, here's what you can do:
1. Turn off the monitor
2. Unscrew the face of the monitor
3. Remove the bottom part of the face from the backside, so you can see the chip
(the control chip is located on the face of the monitor, under the buttons)
4. You will see a small white connector about 5mm wide, UNPLUGG it
5. Put the small cable that you've unconnected under the front, so you can close the monitor back
6. Close the monitor and plug it back in

That's it. You won't be able to change your settings (they autoadjust anyway), but you won't have to throw the monitor away!

Peace.

SOURCE: A green hue from my samsung syncmaster 720n

Check the video cable connection at both ends. If it is secure, then move the cable in circles at both ends.
If the cable breaks a single wire, it will still be close enough to make contact under this test.
The red is almost always the one that will break first and cause the green and blue signals to be the only ones to be active resulting in a blue/green tint.
If you have another cable just try that instead.

This sounds like either the capacitors are failing in the unit, or if you can hold a flashlight to see a very faint shadow of whatever is supposed to be on the screen then it needs a new backlight.

How do I install a samsung syncmaster 720n monitor without a disk

Hi, if you click on the below link -

Samsung Syncmaster 720n

it will take you to Samsungs site where you can download both the usermanual and the driver you will need to install. To get to the drivers, wait for the page to finish loading, then underneath the word Download on the downloads tab there are two options, Manuals and Driver. Click on the word Driver and below will appear the driver - just click on the EXE picture under the word File to download and install.

Thanks, if this solution helps please rate :)

You need to check the power supply and see if the output voltage is correct, it should be written on the power supply board by the out put connector, if it is correct then it is possible that the inverter is bad.. I suspect a bad power supply.
