My 60 gallon kolbalt was running and stop when it filled now it wont go o ever with the tank drain it spins free it does nothing no sounds either

When you say it does nothing do you mean the motor wont come on or the motor comes on and it wont build pressure? if the motor comes on, there are several possibilities:
1. The unloader valve is stuck open
2. The valves in the head are bad
3. The flywheel is loose
If the motor wont come on, the pressure switch is bad (which holds the unloader valve open)

Hello I have a 20 gallon kobalt model 033204. I just replase pressure switch but does same thing. When I tur on the compressor jus build 50 psi and shuts off.

This usually occurs when the motors internal thermal / amp breaker opens due to overload or weak breaker. Use an amp gauge to test for too much amp draw. If amp draw is normal, then problem could be the in-tank check valve leaking pressure back to the pump overloading the system, or weak capacitor or weak breaker. Bypass the breaker temporarily if the amp draw is normal to test system. Good luck

I have a Kobalt 10 gal, 1.5 hp air compressor. It has a digital display. It does not show anything in the display and keeps running until relief valve pops. I tried to find a new pressure switch but no...

Abandon the display and install a generic pressure switch at a convenient port. Example. Remove the safety valve and install a tee fitting. Re-install the safety on one port of the tee and a pressure switch on the second port. Generic pressure switch on Ebay is about $15 dollars. The pressure switch usually has other ports to install gauge and quick fittings. Will not look pretty but will work nicely. Good luck

We have a craftsman 60 gallon air compressor model 919.175.260. The valve on the side of the pressure switch is leaking air. What might be wrong? Thanks.

If their is air leaking out of the pressure switch after the motor turns off you have a stuck or broken tank check valve. The check valve (PN CAC-437-2) is located on the tank where the line from the pump goes into the tank. There is also a smaller line from the check valve to the pressure switch. If working properly, the check valve lets air into the tank but closes when the motor shuts off. The pressure switch then opens a valve to the smaller line and lets the pressure out of the pump head and lines so the motor can restart when the pressure drops. On rare occasions you can remove the valve and clean it, but more often than not, you have to replace it.

The compressor air supply line from comp. to storage tank has a tee at the tank with a brass pluss in it with a tiny pin hole and that is allow air to be expelled. Is this a safety plug or can it be...

no, do not block with a solid plug. This allows air to bleed off the compressor so it will restart when pressure switch makes. If air continually bleeds out of this hole i would check the tank check valve . It is bad or has trash or something keeping it from closing. If check valve is bad it will allow air from the tank to bleed down until compressor starts or no air left in tank if shut down

When it runs it sounds like an air leak from the engine and the tank does not fill. i do not hear air leaking when not running.

This sounds like the compression release valve is leaking. This valve bleeds the cylinder pressure to allow the motor to start without having the load on it. On this size compressor the valve is often built into the pressure switch. It is a little "pintle" type valve and you will hear hissing while unit is running but the opressure will not build up very much. When the pressure switch calls for the unit to run, the little valve closes with the switch. COntamination or other stiction keeping the valve form closing will cause the problem. You will find this near a tube that goes to the pressure switch. The switch itself hooks into the tank, but this little tube will connect to the cylinder head or the main tube from the compressor. Yours may look similar to ones at this site:
The valve is also commonly called the "unloader" valve.

Large volume of air coming out of vent

If the are coming out the vent is located at the pressure switch you have a stuck or bad tank check valve. Take the small copper line off at the pressure switch. If it blows air. replace the check valve. The check valve is located in top of the receiver tank. The copper tube removed goes back to one side of the check valve. Just remove the small tube from the check valve. Make sure there is no air pressure on the tank. remove the copper tube frome the compressor head and from the top of the check valve. Using the proper size socket, wrench, etc. remove the check valve. Inspect. If it has some type foreign material in it clean. If you fell that will correct the problem install in reverse order. I usually replace them if I have gone to the trouble of removing. Good luck!

My ssl5l compressor builds pressure real slow now. Rings or Valves? it did get a little warm while sandblasting lately....

Very rare to have problems with rings. Blow-by would produce high pulsating pressure in the crankcase causing oil to blow out the oil filler plug/ dipstick. If normal crank pressure, suspect problem with valves or gaskets. Remove air filter cover and check for air blowing out of intake or very hot head or air discharge tube. Leaking valves or blown gasket will cause low volume/ low pressure and hot discharge air. Remove the in-tank checkvalve and look for carbon deposits /debris build-up. If the checkvalve and the interior or discharge hose are coated with oil deposits /carbon, most likely problem is valve plate/ gaskets /head. Good luck with your repair.
