Re: TV won't come on.
You would have to make some checks first. If completely dead, first you can check and see if fuse blown in powersupply. If not then: CHECK IC700 PIN 20 (AC-OFF) FOR 0 VOLTS DC. IF HIGH, CHECK FOR LEAKY D980 PART # 264P045040 ON THE MAIN PCB

If the red light won't come on it is not getting power.First, try plugging it in to a different outlet,or unplug one of the gadgets you know is working and plug the tv in there. You are simply switching. If you know that there is power coming from the outlet and it still won't come on then you'll have to check the cord;don't go much farther than that without expert help.
Possible there is a problem with your power button try to check it if it is still functional. Read light means standby power meaning your TV still working. If you cannot do it by yourself fixing it try to bring your TV at your nearest TV shop to check the power button.
Hoping for your kind approval to make my rate Solved for this problem.
a code will always read 12-normal if you just plugged the tv in. it has to try to turn on then shut itself down to log a code. Or shutdown is caused by something the tv cannot detect . Or a front panel button has failed- does the green light turn on for a second when you hit the power button on the remote? if not try unplugging the front keypad behind the speaker cover.
first things check the outlet for power.
chech and make shure your surge protector is in the on posishion.
try pluging sumthig else in wer the tv will be pluging into.
at least you know if its the outlet or the tv set.
ok now press the power button on the tv set not the remote.
dose it work.
ok problem solved.
if it did not work you can have a tech see if the internal fusse is good or bad.
i will need the model number to look futher into tech repair.
I will do this for you if you need it done.
Resetting the TV If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:
NOTE: Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time. 1.Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet. 2.Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...) 3.Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds. 4.Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV. 5.Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again. 6.Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices. 7.Turn on the TV.
If ever resetting is no effect then the problem is in the "DM board" The constant blinking green light means that the TV is not booting up. This is a common problem on this set.
Hope it may help you;
a tv has two components, firstly a power supply produces high voltage to trigger a line transformer, in turn a transformer produces smaller voltages. firstly check if the ht is constantly been produced from a supply, if this is there than go to a line transformer, and check voltages at the output.
I am having problems turning on the tv. I had lost the remote control so I bought a universal remote which was not working at the time I unpluged the tv form the powersocket then I tryed to turn on the tv the green power light stays on for a few seconds then it blinks two times then there isn't a power light on after that what is wrong
