Is the filter clean? If there isn't enough air flow over the coil, it can ice up.

If the coil is freezing up it's either a dirty filter, coil or low on refrigerant. Unless somebody went in and changed the fan speed to a lower speed.

Ice on coils of heat pump not cooling

Which coil?, indoor or out? Indoor coils freeze due to clogged filters, low freon, blower motor not working. Outdoor coil freezing could mean, in rare cases in cooling mode, reversing valve not shifting.

There is a wall of ice inside the air conditioner behind the filter.

If you haven't already, tunr the unit OFF & unplug it. Allow to totally thaw. Then remove the air intake filter and clean it thoroughly. It is probably clogged, which is what caused the unit to freeze up. But, do not attempt this, until the unit has totally thawed.

Hope helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Daewoo air conditioner dwc f1220cl keeps freezing up. Filter is clean.

for some reson its not getting enough air flow across the evaporator . check behind the filter and be certain the coils are clean . also if its still iced up you might shut it down and take a hair dryer to it to get all the ice off the coils . as the restrictions due to ice are makeing it worse .. Let me know if it helps ..

I have quiet miser air conditioner that uses a single 15 amp breaker, but the problem is I don`t know weather it`s a 110 or 220.

Hi, if it has a single pole 15 amp breaker. and the end of the cord looks like a regular cord that will fit any 110 receptacle, its a 110 volt unit for sure. No doubt at all, trust me. Good luck and if you have any other questions, just look me up by my user name and I will be here to help you. Don't forget to rate me as I know you will be kind. Good Luck,

Water coming into residence, front of ac icing up and doesn't appear to be blowing cold air..

Hi,
The icing up can come from a dirty air filter or from the unit leaking freon and being low on charge...
The other way to freeze it is to try and make the room too cold...
check the filter... don't try to get the room colder then say 70 and if it still freezes then you have a problem...

Have a pac L90 and behind the filter it develops ice buildup after running for about 1 hour. Cleaned filter but problem is still there. Have used this unit for about 2 years

I have the same problem and mine is the same age. I think it's low on freon but no one near me works on them so I'll never know for sure.

I have jusdt purchased the air conditioner and it wont stop freezing up and shooting out water and ice

the filter up front is not alowing air through the condenser or the condenser is plugged up if the condenser is plugged up you can take a pressure washer to the condenser up front behind the filter and clean it out.

Freezing Up

sounds like air is not flowing properly thru the a/c. if there is a filter you can pull out remove it and clean it.
