Hp psc 750

I've just hooked up this printer/copier/scanner and there is a horrible grinding sound and the message on the screen says open door, clear cartridge jam, and press enter. I've removed and replaced ink cartridges and this problem still continues! What should I do?

Is there somewhere that shows how to get into this gear to replace it?

Re: hp psc 750

Very common problem with this model, the gear that drives the fuser (the hot part) breaks. If you are not a tech I would bring it into a shop. Also ask them if they can replace just the gear and not the whole fuser. (much cheaper)

Scanner error

You may want to try resetting the printer to see if the error can be cleared. If not, you may have a hardware problem that will reqiure service to correct the issue.

Printer Partial Reset:
1. Hold down the "Cancel" and Left Arrow buttons while plugging in the power cord.

If that fails you can try a "Hard Reset".

My hp psc 750 all-in -one printer scanner not working

A friend of mine had a HP printer (Not a PSC 750) that he had simply plugged into his computer and was able to print properly but received the "options not set" message when he tried to scan.

The solution was to install the HP driver package for his printer.

If you are using the default Windows drivers for your printer you may need to install the HP driver package to access all of your printers functions.

Open Door. Clear carriage jam, and then press Enter

Sounds like you have a jam. Open the back of the printer and checl for any paper large or small. If there is no paper, just opening the door and closing it may get rid of the message. All it takes is a piece of paper the diameter of a pea to send a signal that there is a paper jam. After yuou have finished close the door and push enter to let the printer know you are finished. See if this helps. I don't think it has anything to do with the ink cartridges. It sounds more like something stuck causing the jam. Be sure not to have anything like a staple attached to the paper you are printing on to. A speck of dirt could casue a jam message too.

Hp psc 750 cariage problem

Look inside the printer for anything that shouldn't be in there... like paper or dust.
Cariage jam is shown whenever the carriage is blocked by something... even the service station (the black container in the right where the cariage sleeps). With the printer cover open try to power up the unit. Look where the cariage stops. Ceck with a flashlight for any obstacles in that area. Olso verify if the service station is moving. It could be broken and the cariage cannot move away from it.
