Are you wondering how to measure the impedence of the speakers, or how to wire them for less total resistance?

If you have two 4 ohm speakers you can wire them together to create either a 2 ohm or 8 ohm mono load. Have fun!how to ohm down 4 ohm diesel audio - 6456b31.jpg

Can it drive 4 ohm speakers?

If you connect 2 4 ohm speakers in series it will work. You shouldn't try a 4 ohm by itself. You'll kill the output stage of the amp.

I have a plad213 what load impendance am i running it i hook up 2 4ohm speakers in series bridged on that amp and how many watts RMS am i getting per speaker

2 4 ohm speakers wired in series is 8 ohms and then is dropped back down to 4 ohms when you bridge it.

2 4 ohm speakers wired in parallel is 2 ohms then dropped down to 1 ohm when bridged
(most amplifiers will not handle loads below 2 ohms)

hope this info helps

I have 2 4 ohm 12" audiobahn jw1251j and a 1500 watt mono planet audio amp. what ohm do i wire the subs to the amp

depends how low your amps impedance goes down, if it can handle 2 ohm then you have to connect your speakers parallel to it (both speaker plus to amps plus and both speakers minus to amps minus) this will result in 2ohm speakers. if your amp does 4 ohm then use either one speaker for 4 ohm or two speakers in serial connection (in row) but you will have then 8 ohms.

Keep blowing amps and high voltage output voltage please help

If your amp keeps blowing then you need to check your speaker set up, as its very possible that you have a blown speaker somewhere, or a couple of wires shorting together and that is causing the amp to overload... also check the ohm's of your speaker set up, remembering that:

Two 4 ohm speakers wired in parallel = 2 ohm whilst
Two 4 ohm speakers wired in series = 8 ohms

Car amps are rated at 4 ohms and failure to match speakers to this can cause amps to run very hot or blow.

I have a 250 watt / 4 ohm subwoofer i have a diesel 700w amp / 2 channel / hpf or lpf with bass boost. i dont have speaker wires and want to utilize my to speakers in the back of my 2008 mustang to...

if you are trying to use it with the stock headunit you would need to buy a line output converter to use your amp and sub. after you buy the converter you will then need to splice into one of your rear speaker wires so you can run the rca's to the amp and continue with normal install

Pushing 4 ohm speaker systems

Officially this receiver supports only 6 and 8 ohm speakers. But for surround speakers it should not do any harm, because they are not played at full volume. But be sure to set yamaha for 6 ohm speakers.
Using only 4 ohm speakers makes the amplifier work more hard and produce more heat, that's why you can't use it at high volume.

Can a rf 201s amp push 4-6x9s and 4-104s door speakers

Hello jon_jonmay,

Wiring 4 speakers to each of 2 channels, you will need to wire them series-parallel and run them at 4 ohms. If you wire all 4 parallel, the load will be 1 ohm and the amp is only stable down to 2 ohms.

According to your manual, the 201s will deliver 50 watts into each channel at 4 ohms . So it will be supplying about 12.5 watts per speaker which is about what you get with the average factory radio. They will work OK, but they're not going to be very loud.

Hope this helps.

Wiring speaker down to lowest ohm

Wiring a single speaker won't change Ohms.

More than one is a different story.

Parallel wiring is what you're looking for:

Say you have two speakers and one speaker wire.
The positive speaker wire is connected to the positive terminal of each speaker. The same for the negative.

Wiring speakers 'Parallel' will lower the overall impedance according to the following formula:

Say your speakers are 4 Ohms.

Then the formula would be:

1/Rtot=1/4 + 1/4

1/Rtot=1/2 (or .5) Now isolate Rtot

Rtot = 2 (Try it on a calculator)

So two 4 ohm speakers in parallel reduces the impedance to two Ohms.

If you found this useful, please take a sec and rate this response.

Have fun,

Sony xplod 500w 4/3 channel

If the speaker is a 4 ohm DVC (two 4 ohm coils), you can't wire it to get a single 4 ohm load. Try connecting one coil to each of the two rear channels. It may not be as loud but the amp should operate without going into protection.

If the two 4 ohm coils are in parallel, the amp is driving a 2 ohm mono load. That's probably why it's shutting down.
