Replace the Battery.

(Have it tested first to be sure that's the problem)

If you find that the battery is functioning properly, then the problem is your AC Power Adapter (power cord) so replace whichever one doesnt work.........in otherwords, take it to any place that sells dells, ask them to test your battery vs a new one, and your power cord as well!

Hi,

This sounds like the laptop is faulty if within minutes the laptop is totally drained of power from a so-called full charge.
Because the laptop is new then I recommend that you send or take the laptop back for repair or replacement as it's still covered by the manufacturers warranty.

Regards.

Dell latitude 810 will not power up and says low battery

if you plug in to charge your battery and its not charging replace the battery with a new one and a ac adaptor plug, just to avoid any more damage to your pc notebook, dont try to repair if you are unsure on what to do

Dell 9400 wont show AC power icon

If the computer is connected to an electrical outlet, the about10.jpg light operates as follows:
  • Solid green: The battery is charging.

  • Flashing green: The battery is almost fully charged.

If the computer is running on a battery, the about41.jpg light operates as follows:
  • Off: The battery is adequately charged (or the computer is turned off).

  • Flashing orange: The battery charge is low.

  • Solid orange: The battery charge is critically low.
Looks like the AC adaptor is faulty.

New battery and still won't charge.

first, check that the battery connection isn't blocked by a sticker or something.
second: try disconnecting the battery and ac and hold the power button for 1 minute. then give the battery and ac another try.

let us know how it goes.

if it still doesn't work, time for a warranty replacement.

Gateway W323-UI1 battery shows charge at 100% but then when unplugged from AC adapter for 10 mins or so it says "critical battery" and if not plugged back into AC adapter right away laptop powers off...

You will need to calibrate the battery. When you boot the laptop, it will say very quickly to enter Setup press F2 (or Delete key) or similar. Do that, you will enter the BIOS. Look for battery calibration and run it. Can take a few hours.

Gateway M305 power adapter replaced by Gateway. Now blue screen

Try running it just on battery. Then take the battery out and just run if off the adapter. see what happens..and call Gateway and complain..if it doesn't run off the adapter then you really need to call gateway..cause you're stuck without a working computer.

Gateway M305 Laptop

Check to see if the monitor shows up in the device manager. Right click 'my computer' click 'manage' click 'device manager' look for any yellow question marks beside the 'monitors' heading. It is possible there might be a loose connection. You should take it to a shop (unless you comfortable dismanteling your laptop) and have them check it out. I hope this helps. Let me know how you made out, and please rate my answer. Good luck!

Dell 620 Battery Issues

Chances are pretty good that your battery just needs to be replaced. Over time all rechargeable batteries loose their ability to hold a charge. It's also possible, but less likely, that there could be an issue with your AC power adapter or the charging circuitry inside the laptop.

Best bet would be to find a similar laptop with a battery that does charge and switch. If the problem follows the battery then you need a new one.
