Problem with Canon PIXMA MP190 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Need help with my printer canon MP190

I ran out ink for my printer so I want and refill cartridge so I put them in and I use for awhile but it saying out of ink . I know it not but the problem is that I need help . I cant find were I have to go and put so the printer knows that I have refill the cartridge... Please I look all over I cant find were I can fill it up..So it will know that there ink because it keeps till me fill it and it wont lete me print..

    • Did you refill the same ink cartridge or did you replace it? Cause refilling is not recommended as these tend to leak more and damage the printer. Also the printer automatically detects ink levels you cannot manually set it.

I refilled my MP190 Black cartridge PG-37 by drilling a hole in the top (roughly in the middle) and using the syringe supplied with the ink refill kit. To make the printer work again, press and hold down the Stop/Reset button (on bottom right hand side of printer) for at least 5 seconds until the display reads 1 again. This bypasses the ink level detector and is explained in the trouble shooting section of the on screen manual supplied on the printer installation CD. It works. It then happened again with the colour cartridge, so I repeated the process. It worked again. This should also work for the PG40 and CL41 cartridges.
