Touchpad won't work

I have an Acer One, I guess Aspire 10.1" screen and I installed a USB mouse and now the touch pad will not work? I've done a system restore, checked the mouse properties and everything is enabled, removed the USB mouse and rebooted. It worked momentarily when I used system restore, but then it was gone again. Help! Susan

Your Aspire has a Fn key down between the ALT and CTRL keys on the left. Push that and the F7 key (pretty sure that is the one). It turns the touchpad on and off.

Hope this helps.

My touched pad is not working coz i've been using a mouse recently then by the time that i want to use my touched pad already its not working anymore.. what should i do.?

I believe Acer has a special key combination to reactivate the touchpad... using the Function Key (Fn). If not that, there should be a program on startup which puts an icon in your toolbar at the bottom of your screen. Click that icon for all your options.
Failing these solutions... try deleting the hardware in control panel/system/hardware/device manager/mice and other pointing devices, reboot to see if it now working as it should (USB mouse disconected-of course!)

How do I turn off the touch pad on my Acer Aspire 5742 laptop

Hello,

Thank you for using fixya. My name is Carlo.

There are two ways that you can do to turn off/on the touch pad in your acer aspire.

1. Press FN + F7. It will turn off the touchpad and will turn on once you press the same buttons again.

2. If the buttons do not work. You can do this:

1. Go to control panel>hardware and devices>Devices and Printers>Mouse
2. CLick on the last setting on the right.
3. Click on Disable in the Mouse Properties.
5. Click OK.

Just go to the same area when you want to enable your touchpad again.

I hope this helps.

My touchpad still wont work for my acer 3000

There is a button to turn on and off the touch pad. Is there a button on your keyboard that has the letters FN on it? if so hold that down and see what comes up. If not search for any kind of switch near your touch pad or that is on the keyboard that is not a normal typing key.

Hi.my touchpad don't work at all!!I can't do anthting with my touchpad.

The pad may be defective buy a cheep wireless usb mouse for it and use it to work without the pad. the pads do wear out and the replacement would be over a 100 Bucks.

My touchpad mouse won't work. it does not respond

If you are using XP, check your mouse settings under Control Panel. Make sure that your Touch Pad is enabled. If it is but it still won't work, have a mouse plugged into a USB port that will work correctly. Then download the latest driver from the Acer site for your touchpad. Uninstall the driver that is currently being used by your system. Then install the updated driver that you downloaded. This should allow you to use your Touch Pad. If not, you may have to take your laptop in for servicing.

Acer aspire 5612zwlmi web cam and mouse pad

Mouse pad jumping can be common symptom of Synaptics pads (is it Synaptics?) - look for driver and install it.
Also, try switching it on from off and do NOT touch the pad for several minutes.
Common symptom when people just use very light pressure on mouse pad within first few minutes. Latest driver should fix.
also try pressing whole palm down on touchpad for several seconds - this can reset the software on some touchpads.
As for webcam, disconnect it, uninstall drivers, re-install drivers and then re-connect it. If it is built in then go to Device Manager - Hardware and find the device - click on uninstall driver - then re-install the driver.

Acer aspire 3680

Navigate Start -> Control Panel -> Mouse

Then mouse properties window will be open.
Click on device setting.
Your TouchPad will be listed under Devices, be sure that its Enabled/Yes, if its not enabled click on Enable button bellow to the device list.

Note: If your TouchPad is not listed in Devices list, then you have to install driver for the touch pad. For driver please search Acer website.

Thanks
