I did a google search on the make of that laptop and came up with 366MHz thats not bad.
Theres a modem socket on the side of that model plug it in with the cord in the bag it will be ther I imagine if NOT then you will have to buy one ortry the phone card it should fit the socket.
Dont buy anymore PC cards as they connect to another computer. You can only go on the net if the othr computer is already connected.
Check in the control panel for the modem and test it if its ok then you can connect. You will hear the dial tone then or at least you should. Come bck here for more info if you need it....
