My computer cant find my printer its a lexmark 2600

Every time i try to print a photo my computer tells me it cant connect to printer and its connected properly plus its installed properly someone help plz???

    Well No it cant i tried the exact words is THE PRINTER CANT COMMUNICATE WITH THE COMPUTER.....that keeps poppin up every time i try to print something

Have you tried the following steps?
1. Power off your computer.
2. Power off the printer and remove the power cord.
3. Check the cable connection between the printer and the computer to make sure it isn't loose.
4. Put the power cord back in the printer and power it up. Do all lights show up as normal? Green? Or are some flashing?
5. Power on your computer.
6. Under the printers folder, right click the installed printer and go to properties. Print a test page.

How is the printer connected? USB or parallel port?

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.

When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and close the cover. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.


If that doesn't help, the problem could be due to a clogged print cartridge nozzle. Please follow the steps below to fix print quality issues with your model:

  1. On your computer, go to Start menu.
  2. Go to Programs.
  3. Go to Lexmark 2600 Series folder.

My lexmark 2600 is ON and rdy but my comp doesnt see it after making a USB connection so i cant use it to scan and print

There could be some print jobs stuck in the print queue. Try to clear the print queue first before sending a new print job. Follow these steps: - Browse to Start -> Run... and type in "NET STOP SPOOLER" (this will stop the print spooler service)


- Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder - You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files. - Browse to Start -> Run... and type in "NET START SPOOLER" (this will restart the print spooler service) - Double click the printer icon in the lower-right corner of your taskbar to examine your print job queue and browse to View -> Refresh.
Try to print again.

Lexmark 2600 printing problem


You might try deleting the printer from the 'Printers and faxes' folder in the Control Panel, reboot with the printer connected and turned on. Win should 'find' it again and reinstall the driver.
