Missilng address book in my (Cingular/AT&T) Nokia 6085

Turned on my phone today Sun. Apr 19, approx 1:00pm. Started up in MediaNet, which I don't use; very unusual. Now my entire address book is shown as empty except for two numbers which I haven't called in a while. I think the numbers are still on the SIM card and/or still in the phone somewhere, since while attempting to restore (not knowing what I was doing) I got a message indicating two were restored and 60 not restored which is about the number of contacts that are missing.

Thanks, Bill F.

Okay. What you need to do is that you need to take the SIM card out. Then put it back in. Now cut on your phone and go to the address book and it should say sattings before you click on the phone book. Then it may say that it is only using phone memory or only sim memory but it needs to be on phone and sim memory. I hope this works!

To set up idea gprs on nokia 5800 xpress music

You need to set up the internet settings on the phone. This is the settings for AT&T, but if you need them for another carrier, just repost or call your provider and get the proper WAP settings. This is the AT&T settings but it includes how you would set this up with any provider.

Go to Settings>connectivity>Destinations>Internet>At&T Internet(or create on with the settings info given below)

  • Connection Name: MediaNet (or whatever you want it to be - it's just your own name for the connection point)
  • Data Bearer: Packet Data
  • Access Point Name: wap.cingular
  • User Name: <leave blank>
  • Prompt Password: No
  • Password: <leave blank>
  • Authentication: normal
  • Homepage: http://home
  • Network type: IPv4
  • Phone IP address: automatic
  • DNS address: automatic
  • Proxy serv. address: wireless.cingular.com
  • Proxy port number: 8080
Good luck!!

No screen on nokia 6085 can you give me the correct buttons to push so to save my contacts from phone on to sim, Thanks

you have to be able to see the screen because you will have to scroll thru the menu to choose the right options, such as going to address book, choosing copy contacts and then from phone to smart chip...you can see the directions by going to att.com/devicetutorials. last time i went the site was down but you and go to www.wireless.att.com and then choose support and and under tutorials select the little blue link that says go to tutorials and then choose your phone and getting started then copy to/from sim
