Question about Fuji FinePix S700 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Fujufilm S700 won't power on. New batteries and are in correctly. Battery door closed properly, however, the door covering the SD is broken in half. Will this cause the camera not to power on?

Yes it will. The door activates a micro switch that cuts power to the camera when open to prevent accidental removal of the card and loss of pictures stored on the card. You can bypass this switch with either a solder "bridge" or remove the switch and use a piece of wire to bridge the pads on the board.

Probably, but the cost may be more than the camera is worth.

Make sure the battery is installed correctly.Try opening, then closing the cover to the memory card and battery compartment while holding pressure against it until you hear it click closed. Then try to power it up. The camera will not power up if the cover is not properly closed.

My camera won't power up with fresh batteries. It died while I was taking photos. I thought the batteries were flat so put in new batteries (two different sets), but the camera wont turn on when the start...

Try plugging your camera in via-usb into your computer. That's usually the most direct way to get power to your camera. If that doesn't work, check the battery door where you insert your batteries. It could be loose or closed incorrectly. If your camera doesn't turn on even after plugging it into your USB, there may be a hardware problem or something that has shorted out (possibly your LCD screen.)
Good luck!

I have a Fujufilm Finepix S5700 digital camera. Does not power up

hold power button down and remove battery at the same time once battery is out put battery into charger, if the light shows red then it needs to be charged if it shows green allow it to stay in the charger for 3 minutes then remove the battery and install in the camera pust the power button on hold for 5 seconds, if the camera comes on your ready to go, if not then you may have damaged the battery pack and will have to replace te battery. If you have a cable that plugs into the camera try using the powrord with battery plugged in, if it does not work then your battery is bad and you will have to purchase from fuji to get the right battery pack.

My sony cybershot dcs-s700, it has new batteries, but the power button flashes green and camera will not stay on, and you are unable to magnify. Whats wrong

Hi!

Remove the Battery from the Camera and clean the battery compartment using a soft cloth. Then, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then, reinsert the Battery pack and turn ON the Camera. Please make sure that the Battery is fully charged. If the issue persists then the issue may be related to mechanical failure and service will be required.

Camera wont turn on

Check the internal contacts for bent, broken or improper connections.
Try inserting and pressing the battery in the camera while keeping the battery door open to see if the camera powers (This may help you determine if the battery is being held in correctly by the battery holder or the battery door.)
Cameras using AA type batteries
Check that the battery door closes properly and is snapped into place properly. Make sure there are no cracks or any defections on the battery door.

Fujifilm finepix s700 is not turning on

OK

First check the battery door to make sure that it is closed properly. If you have a media door (the door which covers where the media cards are inserted) make sure that is closed properly. If this is the case then check that there is no plastic broken off. The doors contact with microswitches which allow the camera to turn on.

On the camera there is also a playback button. (green triangle) If you hold this and the camera turns on then your power switch is faulty.

Failing all of this then put some power into the camera via an adapter. If the camera turns on then it is likelly to be a battery fuse.

In all instances you will need to send the camera to be repaired at the fujifilm service centre. Web address below.

Not turning on

Hello Ariel, You need a new battery lid. The problem is the lid has a pin that when closed properly, allows the battery to power up the camera. You can get one for $30.00 on Ebay item number 7623965577 if you act fast. This is a good camera and would be worth $30.00 (plus 5.50 shipping) to fix it. Please let me know how it works. Best regards, nightdiver
