on the back of the ps3 bluetooth controler there a tiny whole ,put a paper clip to reset controller . when lights are of go to ps3 hold down select and ps3 button at sametime . then horizantily hold the start button. this worked for arsenal ps3 bluetooth controller dont no about original ps3 controller
Check that the batteries in the controller are rechargeable, as some consoles that you can buy come with different things depending on the bundle you choose. I don't have a ps3 but I do have an xbox 360 and the bundle I chose did not come with a charger kit or rechargeable batteries.
If they are rechargeable batteries have you tried them in a different ps3 controller to see if they will charge then?
yea i have noticed my ps3 isn't charging stuff either it only does charge when its turned on im pretty sure theres a setting to charge while the ps3 is off
To sync:
Connect the USB cable (provided with the controller) into the data USB port on the top of the controller. Insert the other end of the controller into one of the two USB ports on the front of the system.
Power on the television and the Sony PlayStation 3. You are going to see a series of lights flicker on the top of the wireless controller.
Press the PS3 button in the middle of the controller. This tells the gaming system it is connected. A single light appears on the controller.
Remove the gaming controller from the PS3. You can now use it wireless. It is also possible to remove the USB cable from the PlayStation if it is blocking your field of view.
maybe its the USB PORTS from your ps3 system that are not working try using a flash drive or any kind of USB drive into the ps3 USB port and see if the playstaion recognizes itif it doesn't I'd say its the USB ports that do'nt work
I first would try to do a software update for the system. You can get if from sony. The update usually cures most problems. The problems that can't be cured are motherboard and chipset problems which are common in the ps3
