I bought this remote control at Bed Bath and Beyond. There are no directions on how to set it so it will work on my TV. Help Please! We have a SAMSUNG Flat screen. We put the batteries in, pushed the search button and nothing happened. We know the batteries work,as a little red light was on on the remote.

If you don't have the code do this! I worked for me.... Hold code search until light stays on... then select item to program <tv, vcr, dvd,exct..>... then press power button once... It will blink every couple of seconds and run thru the codes it self..... wait for the item choosen to turn off.... Then quickly press enter... TADA PROGRAMED!!!!! continue for each item to be programed. Be patient there are up to 500 codes! Can take Up to 10 min, But better than wasting $10.00$ good luck

If you are looking for a code for your Comcast Motorola cable box so that you can use your Innovage Jumbo Universal Remote Control and you notice that there is no code for that box in the manufacturer's instructions, you should try all of the General Instrument codes. Some time back, Motorola purchased GI and the boxes are made by that group. To save you time, those codes are either 003, 049, 051, 053, 054, 058, 068, 069, 070, or 071. I hope that helps.

Here is the short version

Turn on the device you want to deal with

Hold the Code Search button (for 3 seconds till it goes solid)

Then push the device button you want to program

Then keep the remote aimed at the device and occasionally and slowly push the power button. (It could take 50 pushes or 60 seconds for the remote to find the right code)

Once the device turns itself off, you need to quickly push the enter button. This will store the code in the remote.

Then push power again to double check that the remote will turn the device back on. Try all the other buttons. If it all works, then great. In my case the volume down button changed the channell, and I had to keep searching for new codes. Also my TV Input button hasn't worked on any code I tried.

Any suggestions for my TV Input button?????

  1)press and HOLD "code search" for at least 3 seconds (until the light lights up).
  
  2)Press TV
  
  3)press the 3-digit code and the light should turn off.
  
  4)Test by pressing the Power button.
  
  5)If it didn't work try the next 3-digit code until you find the code that works.

  004, 005, 009, 015, 104, 105, 106, 109, 172.

Patience is the best fix... yea, I was getting frustrated, got the dvd player and vcr right away, but my emerson tv was killing me, had it switch off a couple of times, but the channel/volume wouldn't work. finally went thru the push button 300 times directions, and when I hit the button sslloowwllyy (once every 2 or 3 seconds or so) I finally landed on the right code. (I guess I was going past the code when I was mashing the button 3 or 4 times a sec!) couldn't get it to work on my surround sound (pioneer) but it never claimed to do that!
It was a gag gift from my wife, (my fingers are large and lots of remotes have tiny buttons), but it is worth the $10 that I saw it for at the local stores... considering remotes can sell for upwards of $500, you get what you pay for!

Hello all remotes purchased work in a similar fashion. You must select the appliance you want to work with hold down the Code Search function key until it stays lit they key punch a 3 digit code. After this verify that the unit works with this code, if it does not use another code provided ( usually 2 to 3 per brand).

Here is my frustration that know one seems to comment much about. If you have followed the code search method, where you press code search wait for the light,press which one you want to program, and you click the on/off botton until it turns on, and you press enter, the tv for safe measures, and then you press the power botton again, and nothing happens, what next. None of the channels, nor the volume,work. What next? once the code is found, through the code search, and it comes, on, and you press enter. What is suppose to happen?

So I have an Emerson TV and I have this black jumbo remote and I have no code book. I put batteries in and this blue light came on and stayed on and i keep hitting code search but seeing as you need to see the light stay on and mine already was like that i had no idea if i was doing it right. now i have no lights at all and i need help.

If you are correctly using the code search button/the correct codes and your tv goes off and you hit enter it is programmed. To complete the programming you must hit the correct device button after hitting enter i.e TV, VCR, etc.Then hit power again. If you hit power before hitting the device button it will cancel the programming.

Can't give you the "code", but I can suggest a method that I found to control my 42" Oleavia. Use the code search method, but instead of stopping and hitting enter on the code that turns the TV off, continue trying codes until you find the one that then turns the TV on, and then hit enter. Standard features of the remote then all work, except for mute, in my case.
