this is what I get! A couple of years ago I needed leg loking parts for a Monfrotto Tripod and was able to order parts and fix the problem from a US based online Bogen/Monfrotto Parts store with no problem. Unfortunately I didn't save the address for this place and that's what I was willing to pay you to provide. But to just get "part not available" is BS and I don't feel obligated to hand out my hard earned money for your kind of meaningless BS.

Credit my account!!!and get a real job.

My problem is still the same and I don't feel like wasting my time allowing you to utilize my money over time to draw interest for you while you continue to give me BS. just credit my account within the next 24 hrs. No if, and or butts! Just credit my account!

Thank you for this possible solution. I have made inquiry to the service center and am awaiting their reply. If they can, for a reasonable, less than replacement cost, repair my unit I will accept your solution.

It seems from the email I received from your last suggestion does not solve my problem:

    "Tom,

Thanks for the inquiry, but we cannot get parts for this model.

    Brooke Chamberlain
    Advance Camera Repair
    503-292-6996 extension 22"

I checked out buying a similar product since the 522 model is discontinued and found one for only $150.00 (half of buying a new one) so I guess I'll have to get that one.

If you in good faith feel you have solved my problem then keep the money I sent you.

However, I will never recommend nor do business with you again.

How to check temperature sensor and how to replace it on a 2003 chevy impala 3.8l

Testing: many intermittent open or shorted circuits come and go with harness and connector movement caused by vibration, engine torque, bumps and rough pavement, etc.

Test the wiring harness and connectors by performing the following:
Move the related connectors and wiring while monitoring the appropriate scan tool data.
Move the related connectors and wiring with the component commanded ON and OFF, with the scan tool. Observe the components operation.
With the engine running, move the related connectors and wiring while monitoring engine operation.
If harness or connector movement affects the data displayed, the component and system operation, or the engine operation, inspect and repair the harness or connections as necessary

Test the electrical connections and/or wiring by performing the following:
Inspect for incorrect mating of the connector halves, or terminals not fully seated in the connector body, backed-out.
Inspect for improperly formed or damaged terminals. Test for incorrect terminal tension.
Inspect for poor terminal to wire connections including terminals crimped over insulation. This requires removing the terminal from the connector body.
Inspect for corrosion or water intrusion. Pierced or damaged insulation can allow moisture to enter the wiring. The conductor can corrode inside the insulation with little visible evidence. Look for swollen and stiff sections of wire in the suspect circuits.
Inspect for wires that are broken inside the insulation.

NOTE Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  1. Partially drain the cooling system.
  2. Disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector.
  3. Remove the ECT sensor.

To install:

NOTE Replacement components must be the correct part number for the application. Components requiring the use of the thread locking compound, lubricants, corrosion inhibitors, or sealants are identified in the service procedure. Some replacement components may come with these coatings already applied. Do not use these coatings on components unless specified. These coatings can affect the final torque, which may affect the operation of the component. Use the correct torque specification when installing components in order to avoid damage.
NOTE Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.
  1. Coat the threads with sealer GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent.
NOTE Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  2. Install the ECT sensor and tighten to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
  3. Connect the ECT electrical connector.
  4. Fill the cooling system.

Hope helps (remember to rate this answer).

Tip of LANC connector on Sony tripod broken off!

Two options:

1. Replace the cable with the same connector.
2. Replace the 2.5 mm connector.

I took the LANC cable from an old Sony remote, open up the tripod remote control handle and replace the whole cable. Some soldering required to remove the wires from the PC board and solder the new wire.

The PC board has marking White/Black/Red, the replacement connector with the Tip to the White, the Ring to the Red, and the Shell to the Black.

Good luck!

Comes on, takes pics, menu and all else locked out or don't work

It sounds like you have a problem with the ribbon inside. You need to replace this ribbon connection. You're not locked out, the connection is faulty. Take it to your repairman and explain what is broken.

How can I prevent the Handy cam to shut down on stand-by as I use the cam for computer recording

Buy one of these:
http://www.signvideo.com/zoom-controller-lanc-dvx-menu.htm

If you plug it into the LANC input on your camcorder it will prevent the camera from going into standby mode (assuming you have a camcorder with a Control-L jack).
