    hi blwatson,

I am wondering if you had any luck locating a wiring diagram for the vulcan cx 930? I am attempting to replace the thermostat on my unit too but am unable to identify what each of the wires are....
Vulcan have been taken over by bonaire and they were useless, just told me the heater was too old and they couldnt provide technical support. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have the same unit.. there was a wiring diagram on the reverse side of the panel you lift when you light the pilot flame.

in regards to replacing the thermostat.. I eventually found out it requires a wiring mod on the furnace outside... it is not difficult.
the thermostat basically connects directly to the gas valve. If you google around you'll find that most of the basic old thermostats need to connect up to the "R" and "W" terminals on the thermostat. If you google around for info wiring a gas valve to a thermostat you should be able to work it out. If you can't you shouldn't really be attempting it.

I require a Furnace control card for a cx90/31 heater, but so far no luck . I agree with Vulcan dave. Bonaire are useless, they are more interested in selling a new heater than keeping former customers happy.

Bonaire vulcan comfort control

No it cant really be fitted as the evap system uses much larger duct and also in some cases people use a different type of duct that when running a gas heater threw it it tends to melt with the heat. Your best option would be to get new ducting that way you can size it correctly so you dont have air alance issues down the track.

The control board on my furnace is blinking 5 times. What does 5 blinks mean? Also what do 6 blinks mean?

What make/ model is your furnace? Do you have the wiring diagram to the unit? Usually on the inside of the heater panel on a split unit where the heater is in one location and the outside unit (condensor) is outdoors.

Pilot lights but won't stay on in my older style vulcan space heater. thermo couple was replaced last year.any ideas that i could try thanks

Most common cause of pilot light problems is air movement. If your space heater exhausts gas through the roof, ensure the cap is on and level. If not, outside air movement will blow out the pilot. If you do not have an exhaust gas duct, check that the unit is positioned so that it does not blow air back onto itself from walls, furniture, etc, and ensure no other devices that move air are aimed towards the unit. The unit also needs to be placed away from central ducting, including return vents.

Hope this helps!

I am replacing an old Tork mechanical Light contoller with a new Tork digital light controller. The unit will control an outside pole light but on the same circuit I have manually switch contolled lights on...

Tork timers are each a bit different depending on voltage and model number.

Each timer has a model number on inside of timer door.

1) Add a comment with model numbers for each timer, and voltage you are working with, and I will post the conversion wiring.

2) Also look up your model number and wiring diagram on following link.

Add a comment for more free help.
Also take advantage of fixya phone service.
For a price, expert speaks with you over phone while you work on timer or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.

Vulcan CX Central ducted heating. RE: Following a power outage the control panel does not respond, I have checked the pilot light and it is still on. I need to know how to reset the time and get it to...

The control panel gets its power from the central heating unit's power point. Try turning the power off outside at the powerpoint next to the ducted heating unit and try turning it on again after a few seconds, see if it resets

Vulcan oil heater

Regarding the wiring on my ancient Vulcan oil heater...I have only just received a wiring diagram (dated January 1969), which I am just about to get stuck in to. I hope that I can follow it (the drawing looks like the last copy of something that's been copied 1,000 times before on one of those old Roneo, wet ink, wind-it-by-hand copiers). The drawing came from a Vulcan agent on the very far side of Adelaide. Here's hoping. Ooroo, John. .
