SOURCE: LG Projection TV has dark picture

Normally the main cause of any DLP having a dark picture is the lamp. I would replace it and it should look like a new set again.

use the advanced options page and reset the factor blue and red convergence defaults then do re apply the auto color defaults color at first it seemed very red (which is good because red was the missing factor in the green picture) but after reseting all the color and tints to the normal ranges I then reset the color auto correct again and all seems fine.

SOURCE: Colors - particularly green - bleeding on Panasonic 52" rear projection tv

1)Wipe the screen clearly without leavin anything on the screen. This may be one of the reason.
2)Did you by any chance apply pressure on the screen. if yes then it may be the reason for this. This may be the other reason.

What was the exact reason for this to happen.

Color looks white washed!!!

there are in the older rear projection sets lens for those that do not use a lamp for a light source.

In the older sets there are three large black lens that can be seen and reached with the rear cover off---if there clean them as they are the light source in those sets and if dusty picture will look dull and darker than it once did.

If in doubt shoot me a model number.

I'm trying to improve the picture- seems to be TOO DARK- tv is 10 yr old ser3 935351541- ihave tried color adj etc

Rca Screen Control These sets have screen control adjustment usually located behind the speaker grill(pops off -velcro or press tabs) and convergence front board. There are 6 contols on a black molded assembly about 31/2"x21/2" square. adjust only the top controls marked "Screen R G B" the bottom ones are focus
Method:
-turn on set and let warm up for 30 min at least
-switch tv to blank unused video input channel
-adjust each control in turn until you see the picture glow (with the corresponding color) and slightly back off the control - repeat for each color - this will increase screen brightness and ballance your color
Hope this helped.

Screen getting dark

If you have never changed the lamp this is more than likely the issue, as the tv ages the lamp looses brightness. Most lamps are rated for 3000-5000 hrs of use. Replace the lamp assembly part # UX21514 and you will notice a much brighter picture. You do not mention if the tv plays the right colors on the entire screen. These have had light engine issues.
Good luck with it

Mitsubishi WD-73827 with degrading color

Good Day;

More then likely your 2005 MODEL has a bad "LIGHT ENGINE". Call an Authorized Service Center and have them give you an estimate, then call MIT's and try to get them to give you a "CONCESSION". It's costly. Good Luck, big IRISH.
