Make sure your Transporter Jet (R0376900) is shooting water from all holes. If not, it means you have an obstruction in the jet. You can push a toothpick into the hole that is blocked. If that does not clear the obstruction, you can disconnect the jet from the hose and shake out the obstruction. If the obstruction is a small piece of metal, I suggest you look at your Hydro Time Gear Assembly Kit (R0377000) to make sure the metal did not come from this gear.

Make sure your swivels are in good shape and your hoses are not to long. Your local pool store will usually look at your cleaner and ck condition of hoses and swivels for nothing if you bring it in and just charge for parts. As far as the leingth of the hose, this is quite often the culpret to curling hoses. The cleaner should just reach the furthest spot in the pool so it streches out the hose and pulls the curls out of it.

This is a common problem with the Navigator. If you grab the part sticking out where the lead hose attaches to the unit, you should be able to turn it fairly easily with your hand. This is the swivel that is supposed to keep the hoses from getting twisted. When you take the unit apart, you will find a large gear plate with teeth that controls the swivel action. All it takes is one leaf or small rock to jam this plate solid and then there is no swivel action and the hose twists. Leslies should have know all about this.

Hose getting twisted

It could be a steering error that is causing it to tangle the hose. Try these suggestions first. Check and clean the rear screen. Make sure that you cone gear is free and rotates smoothly. Also check your turbine and spindle gear assembly. You will also want to try readjusting your return lines to redirect your cleaner. A common problem with these pool cleaners is that the return lines are directing them to circle, causing the hose to tangle. Finally, make sure that you are storing the hose in a NON-coiled position. If you coil the hose, it will cause it to be permanently bent and interrupt movement. If you have done this, lay the hose out flat in the sun for a few hours to help mold it to the original pattern.

In the automatic pool cleaner is getting stuck, make sure you have proper water flow and that the wings and shoes aren't worn. The hose could be too short and there could be a steering failure. Check your gear box and check and clean your rear screen. If the cleaner is rising out of the pool, make sure that the head is not "floating" or holding water. Remove all air from the cleaner head. Stop all the air from entering the pool thru the return line. If you see fine bubbles, give the hose a good tug. Also, readjust your return lines so that they are not interfering with your operation.

Ray vac pool cleaner seems to lack enough power to stay on the wall

Clean the bottom screen first.
Where the hose hooks to the wall you have a finger screen either in the wall or sticking out of the wall. Ether way pull that out and clean it.
Chech all of your hose floats and jet's make sure none leak and check the float inside the head. Good luck.

Ray Vac cleans only in deep end

Make sure that your automatic pool cleaner doesn't have an obstruction in the hose that might not immediately be visible. This could cause it to circulate in one end of the pool. Also, check the water pressure to ensure that it has enough force to travel the entire pool.

What model is it? Is it robotic (indepentdent of your pump and filter)? If it is attached to your pump system, it could be the cord getting tangled and causing the pool cleaner to move in circles. You might want to consider running it when you are available to watch it or getting a robotic cleaner that you can set to operate at certain times. You might just need to check the hose for defects that would cause it tangle.

It has just stopped working it is lying on the bottom looking very sorry for itself

There are a number of reasons for this check your finger screen first thing to ck this is ether in the wall at the wall fitting or in the back up valve about 18" from the the wall on the hose. if these are clean you can see if the back up valve is stuck by turning the pump on and pulling from water, if water is comeing from side of unit this is your problem. if not hole's in your hoses could be the culpret. Again pulling hoses from water being careful of water from line jets check for leaks in hose. If you pull the Ray Vac from pool most pool shops can check these for you and will usually just charge for parts when you bring it into the store.

I have the problem of the circling Ray Vac. And I haven't seen any solutions here. What's wrong, and what do I have o do to fix it?

PRESSURE is King. After taking apart my entire Ray-Vac and hoses, nothing seemed to fix my circling problem. I finally performed a full cleaning of all my mechanicals, especially the paper filter. I noticed a significant improvement in my water pressure and my Ray-Vac starting running all over the pool again doing her job like she used to. So, the Ray-Vac is very sensitive to water/jet pressure. Check your filter system. You want the most pressure you can get of out jet where you connect the Ray-Vac. This completely solved my problem.

Ray Vac moving slow, circles deep end, sticks on side of pool

I have the same problem and the best solution is to repair/replace the hydro timer kit. It has inner gears that are plastic and wear down and doesn't rotate through the cycle of water flo that changes it's direction. I'm in the process of exhaustive repair and I'm going to replace the hydro timer - (inside part only) and then see what happens. Moving the gears did change it's moving patterns tho.
