Hi Louise Siegel

By using the a standard Cassette Player
  1. Open the tape compartment door by pressing the eject key, usually far to the right and marked with a raised square.
  2. Insert the cassette, label side up, with the tape edge facing out.
  3. Press and lock down the play key (green with a raised circle / triangle) to start the player.

1990 lexus ls400 cassette player will not read or play my cassetes. i put in my cassettes but my front tape flap doesn't close and it automatically switches back to the radio.

The player has to seize the cassette as it is inserted and seat it in the correct position to be played. Sometimes the manual eject linkage becomes defective or misadjusted, preventing the cassette from seating correctly. The eject button may depress fully without causing ejection or it may depress but not cause ejection.

1995 Saab 900S Left speaker doesn't work when using tape player

sounds like the cassette adapter has a bad channel, or didn't fully seat into place. Try removing and re inserting, to play the other side of the adapter if the wires will allow it. Then auto reverse the cassette deck to allow a different portion of the cassette head to be used for the signal. Those cassette adapters are poor quality, and put alot of time on the mech.

Cassette vs MP3.

Yancyyy, Your conflict is understood. These MP3 players really do seem scary for us non-tech people. My granddaughter bought me one for Christmas and I was pretty scared. But she taught me how to use it and overall I am pretty satisfied. I think it's worth the price. Of course, it's only my opinion. If you don't think you have someone who will be able to help you get along with your player, perhaps you should stick to your old cassette player. Good luck!

Cassette player works fine, then screeches after 20-30 minutes.

Yeppers very common problem .. If the noise dosent come from the speakers then the problem is in the motor in the cassette deck. if the problem comes from the speakers when the deck is playing a tape, then the problem is in the record/playback switch. you may beable to fix it by spraying just a lttle bit of tuner cleaner inside the switch. It shouldnt cost much to have a repair shop do this as if you spray too much your going to ruin the belts and the mechanism. Good Luck
