Error message Sharp FO-4450 Fax machine

I keep getting the message "drum life reached" and alarm button on,even though I've changed the drum and toner cartridge - it is working fine - just the error message which is annoying. Does anyone know how to reset it? Can't find info about it in the manual. rdeher

Re: Error message Sharp FO-4450 Fax machine

Press life "2" start for toner.

And life "3" start for drum.

These will reset the counters.

If you are having a "check drum error" then you have broken the sensor arm that is attached to your lid.

Call a technician in your area.

Sharp FO-4470: Error message is: "check cover or drum"

I'm assuming you already replaced the drum, and are still getting this error? Sometimes the chip in the drum that resets the counter is bad. This is esp. true if you get a reman drum. You should replace the drum and try again to see if this fixes the problem. Go back to the place you bought the new drum from and tell them the chip didn't reset the counter and if it's still under warranty they should replace it.

I Have a Sharp FO-4450, there is an error reading as follow's "High Voltage Reading", can you help?

Most likely you will need a high voltage power board. Or a drum or toner contact was damaged. Call a sharp dealership.

Papers come out with black streeks on them from my sharp FO 4450

If everything is coming out with streaks, it's most likely your cleaning blade which is part of the drum cartridge. I've also seen this from 3rd party toner. Get Sharp toner for your Sharp fax if you don't have it already. If your black streaks are only on copies and sent faxes, this indicates that your scanner is dirty. It's located where you feed your paper in. Lift this part up and you'll see a strip of glass running front to back about 1/2 inch wide. Clean it and that will get rid of lines.

Poor Print quality - black lines appear on page

If you see black lines on the drum, it is very likely that the drum unit is bad. Replace the drum unit and rest the drum counter. If you wait too long, you will cause toner build up in the fuser and will cost yourself several hundred dollars to get it replaced. More in labor than parts.

Use a soft cotton or very soft paper towel and wipe the excess toner from the drun. If there are lines worn in the surface of the drum, then replace it ASAP.
