Cartridge is new and full but it says no ink?Is this is a software problem?

I will try to answer your question as best as I can since it is a little hard to diagnose a printer without physically being at the printer. Anyway, it is most likely not a software problem because from the sound of it, it is only one toner cartridge you are having problems with. I have had this type of problem before. I would try to contact the company you purchased the cartridge from. The reason why is because on a lot of these color printers have small microchips on the toner cartridges to keep track of how much toner is left in the cartridge, but these chips don't go by the physical amount of toner. I know it sounds confusing but let me explain. When the cartridge is first filled with toner, the manufacturer knows how much toner they put into it and they program the chip on the cartridge to let it know that amount, then when the cartridge is installed into a printer it tells the printer how much toner is in the cartridge and how "full" it is, then when the printer prints different jobs, it tells the chip how much toner in that color it used for that job, and the chip keeps track of how much toner should be left. Once the cartridge is "empty" the chip tells the printer that it needs to be replaced. Now, you may be wondering why have the chip on the cartridge, and not have the printer just keep track of how much should be left. Well, the main reason is because if you take the cartridge out of the printer and put it into another printer, that new printer will then have the correct amount of toner left told to it by the chip on the cartridge. This is usually done so you aren't printing off a huge number of things only to find out that halfway through the print project you ran out of a color and now have half the job that needs to be thrown away, and reprinted, wasting paper, and toner in the other colors that printed.

Anyway, I tell you this so you will understand this next part and how it could cause problems. If you purchased the toner from somewhere other than the manufacturer and got a "good deal" on the toner, you may have bought it from a place that does toner cartridge recycling, which just like the name suggests, they get used cartridges and reuse them so the cartridges don't end up in the landfills. Sometimes what happens is that after refilling the toner, the microchip either didn't get replaced, or didn't get reprogrammed to reflect that it is now full. So, I would contact the company you bought it from and let them know what is going on.

Like I said, I wanted to let you know how the printer cartridge and the printer worked so when you do talk to the company, you will probably be talking to a customer service rep which may or may not know very much about how the cartridge works with the microchip. So, knowing how it works may save you some time and aggravation when the rep says something like, "Well, it sounds like there may be something wrong with your printer, if the cartridge is full."

One other thing, if you have another cartridge in that color toner that you are having problems with, I would try that cartridge just to make sure it is only having your problem with the one cartridge, that will narrow down the problem to only one cartridge.
