Question about Canon PIXMA MP170 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Canon MP170 non operational

My Canon M170 had recently been causing a problem. It has been installed in my computer for a year now, with no problems until now. The other day when I tried to print a document, it came up with the windows information bubble stating that the USB device was not recognised. We have tried 'Compaq', the computer manufacturers advice by uninstalling the printer through it's method. We have also bought a new USB cable and fitted it incase it was the cable that was causing the problem. Nothing seems to be working. I hope someone can help as we really are not in a position to buy a new printer.

Dear Shiona, Uninstall the printer from your computer, and use new usb cable, install the cable in other usb port and then turn on the computer. Go to the "Add new printer" option from the control panel-printer. and install the driver properly.

Select your OS & choose the Drivers & softwares needed.

Reinstall Camera Launcher. If that doesn't work, see if your computer is recognizing the camera's memory card and try uploading the photos manually.

You can download the software from manufacturer's support website by clicking this link

On the page which opens, select the operating system of your computer (Windows XP/ Vista..) from the drop-down menu (See attached image).

Then download the required drivers and software

Telephone company installed Comtrend CT-301 modem. Recently having connection issues with computer and noticed RED alert light coming on frequently on modem. What is causing these problems?


I've seen bulging capacitors inside this modem causing me problems. Changed the caps and everything was OK for a couple of years after that. Started to have more problems with this modem recently, called phone company and sent me an new modem. Problem solved.
Also, it seems this old modem does not like the newer routers (D-Link DIR-615). It connected for a while, (30 seconds) then lost connection completely until power was cycled on model. The modem worked OK with older D-Link Router.

My JennAir M170 just quit working, nothing.........bought in 1998. Time for a new one? If so, how do I go about just getting the micro for the combo unit? Or do I have to buy an whole new combo unit?


I would at least have a service tech look at it. Here are the comon items to check most of the time when a microwave just quits. 1 the internal fuse. 2 the power diode 3 the large capacitor 4. door open / closed micro-switches 5 the magnetron. The least likely suspect is the control panel yet can also cause the problem. You should still be able to keep this unit in service cost effectively. Until I had it checked out I would not give up on it.

I have a Dell m170. Every time I hit a key on the keyboard I get a sound from the speakers. Delete(backspace) is slow.


while starting your computer means while you powering on your computer just press "Fn" + "X" button & try.......... it might solve your problem
