GE wireless optical mini mouse

Just bought this, having difficulty with the mouse sometimes not responding, or tracking well.

    i have this exact same ge wireless optical mini mouse and have experienced the same problem, it will just stop responding? i am starting to believe it is a manufactures defect of some kind? i will remove the batteries and then put them back in and this will sometimes work.

    I have the same problem, removing both of the batteries and them putting them back in worked for me as well, for the meantime that is .  I had only used it for a couple hours when it stopped working.  I tried the "pairing up" of the two pieces with the little buttons, no luck.  Only the battery trick worked for me.  I hope this is not a frequent problem.

I also have a mouse pad with a wrist rest, and i had it before i purchased my mouse, so i know it does not correct the problem

Not sure if it could be a mouse issue or a surface issue. Some things to keep in mind: 1. Most mice have a "channel" buttof on the bottom used to pair it with the wireless base. Try pressing this a few times to see if you get the desired effect. 2. Surface has a lot to do with quality of the mouse tracking beacon. I suggest dropping $10 on a mousepad. I have a mouse pad with a wrist rest I paid $15 bucks for and even though the mouse doesn't move as fast as on the desk, simple changes in the Control Panel for mouse tracking solved this issue. 3. I am not one to harp on a particular mouse manufacturer but I have had a great deal of good experiences with Logitechs line of mice and keyboards. Hope this helps. D.

I had all the same problems listed in fixit and found that all it took was placing all NEW batteries in the mouse.
Press the blue light button on the USB and the little black reset button on the bottom of the mouse at the same time. Worked good from there on.

How do I change the AAA batteries in my GE Wireless Optical Mini Mouse

Grip the sides of the mouse with both hands and slide the battery cover
back with both thumbs. Then, replace the old batteries with two AAA batteries. Replace the battery cover. Hope that helps.

I get the same thing from a optical with cord.

Change the pointer speed. Look in Start > Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options.

are both keyboard and mouse communicating with a single wireless devices, or each has it's own? sometime you need to sync the signal to the wireless device. but do this first... ask your sister if the mouse was working before she gave it to you, there is a possibility that the mouse is broken/no working. if it's an optical mouse, the mouse that has lights sensor, make sure it lights up...
