My 2002 Silverado 2500 HD with Duramax engine suddenly stopped running. Although the tank read 1/4 full I added 5 gallons to be sure of fuel, then I attempted to prime the fuel at the filter. It seems to pump air mixed with fuel and ,when I tighten the bleed screw, the pump will pump endlessly without building up pressure. Any Ideas???

Before we do anything else lets do a fuel pressure check to make sure the pump is a-ok as well as the fuel pressure regulator. Your gonna need shop manual for this as well as a fuel pressure tester. If all checks out then move to the Turbo code.
Turbo code looks like the waste gate is stuck open and your not building the boost. Do a visual inspection look for any signs of overheating and bearing wear. Check or change oil as needed.
With regards to the Mass air flow I believe you have to replace it. Keep in mind this thing might be the root of you whole problem.
I strongly suggest you use the shop manual for the codes you got. it will make this repair a snap.

CAR switches itself off when fuel is on querter tank

check the calibration of the sender unit as may actually be on empty. Find out the exact capacity of the tank and add a known amount of fuel and see where the gauge reads. For example if the tank is 60 ltrs or 20 gallons add 5 gallons and see where the gauge reads. 5 gallons in 20 gallons should read 1/4 or in your case after the engine stops should read 1/4 full. If it reads 1/2 then the sender is out.

the fuel pump is cooled by gas so if u run it low alot or {OUT} it can burn it up

Where is the "full" mark on the engine coolant tank on my truck? My "low coolant level" light is on and I have added DexCool, and it is still on. I have a 2002 Silverado 2500 HD with the 6.0 gas engine.

The full mark when the engine is hot is at the "hot" marking on the tank. The full cold mark is the "cold" marking on your tank. When the engine is cold, try removing the radiator cap and checking the level. Top off the radiator if necessary. You can disconnect the positive battery terminal for 30 seconds and then reconnect it to reset the ecm but if you have the stock radio, it will lock you out unless you have the radio code. You can try to unplug the sensor on the tank and plug it back in. The sensor is probably grounding out because it is faulty and will need to be replaced but try unplugging it before you put a new one in.
