Have you checked that the wire you are connecting to is constant 12 volts and not switched, and that any inline fuse is still good? Unless there is something wrong with the radio, the memory should work if you have the constant supply connected.

This site may be helpful with wire colors if your model car is listed.

Is a remote wire and memory wire the same

no, they are not the same. the memory wire is to maintain the memory of preset stations and the clock. the remote wire is to turn an amp or power antenna on. on some radios there are two remote wires. one for power antenna and one for amplifier. power antenna is usually blue, and amplifier is usually blue/white.

Which color is the memory wire im tired of resetting time and audio configurations plz help

basically you have a power wire which should be wired to a switched connection and a memory wire which should be wired to a unswiched connection. look on your fuse box under the dash and connect the power wire first to a switched fuse (one that shuts off the radio when you turn off key) then look for a fuse (with same power wire )that when you turn off the key the radio stays on, this is the fuse that you connect the memory to,or you can connect the memory wire directly to the battery but you must use an inline fuse or you burn up your radio, car etc.

I just hooked up an aftermarket cd player in my truck, I've double and triple checked the wiring and everything is correct yet when I shut my key off the radio doesn't turn off. What can I do?

Hello ron_bgsu,

Either the "accessory" wire is always on or the KD-G120 itself is faulty.

Use a voltmeter to check the wire you have connected to the RED wire coming from the CD player wiring harness. There should be voltage only with the key on or in the accessory position. If there's voltage on it with the key off, it's either defective or the incorrect wire. If the wire tests OK, the problem is in the receiver.

Hope this helps.
