the default setting is fax press the copy button to enter copy mode.you can only change or adjust the number of minutes or seconds it stays in the copy mode from the mode timer button after that it returns to the default mode
I had the same problem. I got a sledge hammer and hit it till there was nothing left. Then I bought a new printer. Takes the frustration out of the fix
At Officemax or other electronic stores, they sell a product for about $50.00-$100.00 that sets up your printer to print wireless. I bought mine from office max for 79.99. It works great when im not in my office.
My Brother MFC-5460CN printer is doing the same thing. I installed a new black cartridge (I have it set to default greyscale) from a different company and it worked fine the first four or five days, but then it started printing light again.
