Change the setting on the tstat to electric from gas. Or in the settings you want that the tstat controls the fan not the equipment.

The evaporator fan keeps stopping. I can spin it and get it going, but it always goes off eventually. Do I need a new fan motor?

The fan only runs when the compressor runs. It stops when the defrost cycle runs. It can be hard to hear the compressor. If possible leave the refrigerator door open for a short time and set the temp cold. The fan should run and start unassisted. You can xheck for air flow from the compressor fan . The air will flow from the grill in the front, I would expect the internal freezer and external compressor fan to operate at the same time.

How to check fan motor funtionality of PFCS1NJXB SS?

It probably has two fan motors. One that keeps the compressor cool and one in the freezer compartment that blows cold air out into the freezer and into the frig. You should be able to hear the motor running and feel the air coming out the vents when you open the door of the freezer. The fan runs all the time. If you do not feel or hear, the fan is not working. The one on the compressor, take the cover off the back and you can see if the fan is turning. It runs all the time also.

I have a Frigidaire gallery series fridge. The fan runs all the time and rarely turns off. The condenser kicks off and on normally and it's maintaining temperature but I don't know what it's causing the...

Hi Brandy,

As for your fans, the fans in the back of the unit, (bottom back of the unit, not inside) is called a condenser fan motor this only cools the compressor for the fridge. This fan only runs when the compressor is running. The other fan is in the freezer section and is a variable speed fans motor, this can do two different things with only one job. The fan itself can ramp up and down in speed to control air flow and temperature demand in the two sections. This can run a lot but should slow down when temperature is met or while in a defrost mode. So to sum up this answer, it is common to hear fans run in the newer unit over the older units. Believe it or not do save energy with just moving air over running the compressor all the time.

I hope this helps.

My Fan runs all the time on my HP Pavillion a6720f

GIF's and certain media and even Flash will make your Fan run continuously. Observe what you are doing when you hear the fan run. Also you said you cleaned the fan, did you open the bottom plate and then clean it? Also, is there a hard surface you are keeping the laptop on or are you sitting in bed using the laptop?

Does the Fan on a Haier HD456E always run,

I believe the fan is designed to run all the time, and no, it costs very little to run an 18w fan. You can use a timed socket, or switch it on and off when needed. I don't believe the Haier has specific switching times.

Gateway One Fan Problem

Hi, there is a possibility that the fan is self is defective or power supply cannot supply the fan completely thats why when you turned it on you never hear it running. ICheck the fan connection if is properly connected then using a voltmeter check the voltage supply in the fan it should be +12V or you can replace the it with a reliable one so that you can determin if the fan is defective or not.
