Question about Fuji FinePix F460 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I have a fuji finepix F460 which displays 'zoom error' and the lens is not retracting fully. I have removed and refitted the battery and tried all buttons but the lens doesn't move. Is there a reset procedure please? Thanks David

Either the focus mechanism has jammed or the drive gear has sustained damage. Only way to be sure is to open it up and have a look. I have photos if you want to have a go yourself. my email is listed in "THE ONLY WAY I KNOW HOW..." In the tips & tricks section. Dave

I have got a zoom error on my fuji Finepix V10. When you turn the camera on the zoom starts to come out and then quickly retracts. How can I fix it?

Sounds like the timing for the sensors on the lens are out and will need to be reset.
lens unit will need to be removed and reset

How do I fix the Zoom Error for Fuji Finepix F47fd? I can't even extend the lens fully like what previous posts stated

Hi Jasmine,

With fresh batteries inserted in your camera, try to do this little trick:

1. Hold the camera on your right hand with the lens facing the ground.

2. As you press the power on button, tap or hit the camera's base to your left palm. Do this several times.

Chances are, there could be a sand or granule of dust that got stuck on the sides of the lens, preventing it to retract properly.

Hope this helps.

Zoom error ( stuck) fujifilm finepix s2000 hd

The lens is having a hard time retracting out that is why it is giving you that error. Make sure that your battery is fully charged and if it is, but still does not do any good, then do this little trick:

Zoom error

worked on allot of fuji's. first detease, a gear is slipping in the lens retract assembly due to a crack or wear or jam

2nd guest .. zoom errors means its really stuck tight

the gears can be ordered and replaced and one more possibility is that the motor that drives the gear is bad
Also if dropped or zoom lens jammed hard... lens assembly needs total realignment or replacing..

If the "!ZOOM ERROR" message is displayed on the digital camera, switch the camera off and on again 2 or 3 times.
If this does not clear the error, take the camera to your nearest FUJIFILM Service Station for testing and repairs. Problem may caused by lens zooming gears stuck.

Error message now showing

Does the lens extend and retract as normal?
If so then the internal drive gear for the zoom / focus has been damaged and will need to be repaired/ replaced.
If the whole lens will not move or is stuck then it needs to be removed, stripped and re-assembled.

Zoom lens won't retract

Usually down to the lens block assy being faulty. Is the lens retracting and opening properly?.It usually turns out to be worn gears in the lens drive assy or the result of a fall.Either way will be expensive repair! My advise is check and see whether camera is covered by insurance for accidental knocks.,
