Re: zen micro on/off switch

This is the classic "loose connection" problem. It needs to be resoldered. If you have a soldering iron handy and feel comfortable using it, you can likely do it yourself. But if not, just scroll down this page to a box that says "Repair Service" and enter your zip code to find the closest repair service near you.

I have a question about my zen 4gb player, it wont turn on, charge properly, or connect with the cpu, ihave tried to hard reset but nothing just seems to work. plaese help im in Desprate need to fix it!

Maybe the battery is dead? I know that they have been around a few years, My battery died on my 30 gig vision:m. Here is a tear-down for you to remove the battery. First off the battery is kinda hard to find I could only find it on this website ( the manufacturer) but it is in what i think is Japanese. skc. the battery is rated at 1250mAH at 3.7v and is 2.8 x 53 x 85 mm.

step 1.
Set the on/off switch to the hold position. Stick a Flathead screwdriver in and pry out the top closest to the screen. Now the bottom is a bit harder. Insert a flathead screwdriver in the reset hole and pull up at an angle. It should pop out with a little bit of force.
You have now exposed 4 screws take them out, and place them aside(someplace safe)

Step 2.
There are two clips in the center on the left and right sides holding the back plate on. Insert a small knife into the side and gently pry it apart while working your way down. Pry it up about 2mm. Then do the same to the other side. You will now be able to pull the back off completely. You can easily remove the battery.

That should fix your problem.

Zen Micro will not produce any sound after "play" is clicked

Thanks for using Fixya!

try to isolate the problem first by using another headphone. if another headphone doesn't work. try to check if the volume levels from your zen is turned up.

Have a great day.

Zen Micro stuck in upgrade mode

I think that you should try to go to google and see maybe where is the button and if it happens that google also can not find the probelem of your MP3 player, then you should go to a nearby technician and he can also try to fix your problem.. if he also fails to to fix it.
You should take it back wher you bought it from and tell them to give you a similar one that was almost the same as your old one

Hard Drive to CF Card conversion

Sadly the Micro Drive based newer players/mini external HDD's Etc. use a different kind of Micro Drive to a standard CF Micro Drive.
This comes as a result of people buying Zen Micro's and striping them as a cheap way to obtain a Micro Drive.
Only Micro Drives and CF cards designed to be installed at point of manufacture will work in a device like this, a standard CF card or off the shelf Micro Drive will not.

One yr old, i let batt die, now does not seem to want to chg. after a bit the scn goes blank.
Following a tip on another forum, I picked up a Creative wall charger for the Zen Micro. Works just fine with my Zen V Plus and it was only $9.99 ($17 with tax and shipping) off the Creative web site. I like that it has a 5-foot cord. (That little USB cable that comes with the player is a pain.)
