Question about Dell A960 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My Dell A960 printer is about 2 years old, and this is the first time that it has done anything like this. I recently replaced the black ink cartridge, and printed an alignment page. Well, the printer stated that there was an alignment problem and to remove the tape on the cartridge. However, there was no tape left on the cartridge. I turned the printer off, and it began printing. It probably printed between 10-20 pages, and now it will no longer print anything. It acts like it is printing, but when the page comes out, there is nothing on it. I've tried to manually align the cartridges, but the printer will not completely print out the page so they can align. I've tried cleaning the cartridge. The printer is connected to the computer, and it has all the drivers, etc. Is there anything I haven't tried, or does anyone know what may be causing this? I really need my printer. Also, I've tried copying papers with the same outcome. It scans and acts like it is copying, but the copied page has nothing on it. Thanks!
I was having these same exact problems then i looked at my old ink cartridge and saw that the blue tape was off and that i hadnt taken it off my new one i was trying to print with.!!!

Replace your cartridges with original dell cartridges.
The problem has been identified with Office Max refilled cartridges. The are poor quality and should not be used.

I had a the same problems.
The Fix - Below where the cartridge ride on (side to side). There is a strip touch it is probably tacky with ink residue, it prevents the cartridges from moving freely. This causes friction and slows the printer down causing the errors.
Wipe it clean with windex. And that will clear all the issues with this printer.

SOURCE: I just replaced my ink
Run a few "print-head-cleaning" cycles, to get the black ink flowing through the ink-jets inside the print-head.
Some printers REQUIRE an "alignment" step every time you change the ink-cartridges.
It only takes a few minutes, and it prints one or two pages of paper.
