I have the same problem. Closing the door more carefully doesn't help. There seems to be a switch inside the catch mechanism, but pressing that in doesn't fool the machine into thinking the door is locked. I suspect the switch is broken or a wire is loose. I don't know whether that is fixable DYI.

This happens to me every time i put a load in, try giving the door an extra nudge to close it, just give it a firm push where the handle to open it is. hope that helps!

Just water pump start

Check the water supplies at the back, if the valve is opening, and the water is getting into the machine, it can be a faulty water level switch, or membrane sensor, depending on the model.

A faulty or clogged inlet valve can also close few seconds from opening the valve, usually becausu of a faulty solenoid.

If valve and water level switch are ok, then this is a faulty control.

Have valve and water level switch checked first.

Cleaning depends on use. 8 years is a bit over the top! When your water does not drain, check the outlet filter first, then the pipe from below the tub to the filter. Your washer wont spin 'cause the pump/filter is blocked.
