Question about Char-Broil Advantage 463453306

1 Answer

Only one of four burners will light.

We have a CharBroil model 463453206 gas grill using liquid propane. After lighting the first burner (first of four) using the electronic igniter, then when we try to turn on the second burner it does not light even though we think we can hear additional gas going to it. We are also unable to light the third and fourth burners. What can we do?

Hello, there is a carry over tube between the burners that looks like a burner hold down at the back of the grill. This is likely rusted closed and will need to be cleaned or replaced. The clips that hold the tube down are part # 7000132 and the tube part # is 7000280. They can be purchased directly from Char-Broil or Sears parts.

Can this grill be also used on propane? If so you might be running it too hot on natural gas, check to see if the control knobs have two different set of markings.

Side burner lights but not main burner on gas grill

If you smell gas, don't attempt to light the burner. Instead, turn the gas off and inspect the fuel tank, lines and burners once the smell of has has cleared. Always grill where you have adequate ventilation and perform all repairs only after the grill has fully cooled from use.

Before buying anything, look into the burners for spider webs. The webs block gas from getting to the burner and will fire back. This is dangerous. Look carefully where the gas nozzle enters the burner tube.

#4635102 need new burner

The 4635102 model number is not a Charbroil Model Number. However, 4651330003 is accurate. And burners are available for it from Charbroil http://www.charbroil.com/Parts/529/2002--2003-Charbroil-Gas-Grills.aspx

If that doesn't work for you. You can use the same link to find one for your grill. But, you must have the correct Model Number.

Hope this helped you. Happy Grilling!!

The burners will not light. It appears that they are no getting any propane from the tank. Unfortunately, I have missed the manuel and this is a brand new grill. First time trying to use it and have...

The problem is more than likely the OPD Valve in the gas tank. To solve this problem, turn the Tank Valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Turn the tank valve ON VERY,VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once it's fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn it to it's highest setting. Does the flame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burners following the same procedure. Now, to all the flame heights look correct? If so, you solved the problem. Just remember to always turn the tank valve ON very, very slowly. If it didn't solve the problem, make sure you have adequate gas in "old propane tank from the other grill."

To further help you, I have included a link to your Owner's Manual that you can download and print for future reference. http://www.charbroil.com/bps/char-broil/char-broil/knowledge/463247310%20english.pdf

In addition, here is a link to Troubleshooting Gas grills

I really hope all of this information has helped you solve the problem. Please let me know and Happy Grilling.

Yellow flame

Hello,
You may have a rusted, clogged or damaged burner or venturi tube. With a flashlight, check for spider webs, wasp nests or dirt (mud) dauber nests in the opening of the venturi tube where it connects at each gas valve orifice. Clean it out manually or blow it out with air compressor. Make sure the air adjustment opening (on the end of the burner's venturi tube) has not been changed. If it's closed too much, it will be difficult to light and cause lazy yellow flames. If it's not clogged, the burner may just be old and rusted and the burner holes are not allowing very much gas through anymore. It's also possible the burner has rusted so bad, the burner holes have been enlarged, it is falling apart or has cracks along the burner seams. If so, replace the burner(s) immediately. It is unsafe to use. Your local propane co can usually order the parts you need and some will even do the work, if you are uncomfortable doing it yourself. Bring with you the Make, Model and Serial number of the grill, so they can order the correct parts for your specific grill. Also specify whether it's natural gas2_bing.gif or propane.

Second and third burner burns with a low flame. Burner closest to gas supply works as usual.

This problem can be caused by a number of things. Is this a new grill? If not, is this a new problem?

First -Check to see if the fuel hose is bent or kinked.
• Make sure the grill area is clear of dust.
• Make sure the burner and orifice are clean.
• Check for spiders and insects.
• The regulator has a safety device that restricts the flow of gas in the event of a leak. This safety device can be triggered without a gas leak. To reset the safety device, turn all burners "OFF" and close the Liquid Propane cylinder valve. Disconnect the regulator from the Liquid Propane cylinder and wait 1 minute. Reconnect the regulator to the Liquid Propane cylinder and slowly open the valve until the valve is fully open. Light all burners and observe the temperature.
