Question about Canon CanoScan 8400F Film Scanner
I am working off an IMac desk top computer. I don't want to save documents as .jpeg or PDF. The scanner doesn't seem to offer a desktop save as a .doc. I hate the way to .jpeg or PDF looks, after all I am trying to save a black and white printed document not a photo.
Scanners only see millions of dots. Unless it has software to convert a picture into a document, all documents are seen by scanners as pictures made of of millions of dots. Software is available to convert it to a Microsoft Doc format but it is very expensive.

Use the OmniPage software that came with the scanner. It will allow you to save in a variety of formats, including .doc.
