Also i might add that the board does plug onto the signal board. the metal shield (or metal box that is part of the board is soldered under neath) hense it cannot become (UNSEATED) don't know were you heard that as techman said there are 11 10uf@25volt small metal caps that need to be changed ( i always change all 11 with 10uf at 50volt) to repair all kinds of symtoms like jagged images around images, after a while or warmup image might go completly out of hor sync (pix goes sideways) I have been doing this of 35 years and it's a chore (got my practice on mitz pip mod) i have the equipment (solder station) and i still have to be carefull. after you remove the plastic over the top ofthe hyper board as techman said it is a big metal box behind the imput board IE where you plug in you dvd, vidio game under the plastic over the top.DO NOT TRY TO PULL METAL BOX OUT WITHOUT UNSOLDERING THE METAL CASE UNDERNEATH don't know if your a tech or not but if i were a non tech i would not try this repair GOODLUCK DOC

No it does not need to be reseated. Most likely there are bad capacitors inside of it. The Hyper, or whats really a scan converter, is located right behind the input board. It is a square silver box. Good Luck

Bad hyper module is usually the cause of that issue.

No Video

The VVPU14 hyper module in that unit is a trickey installation because they have their can tabs soldered to the motherboard and next to each of the solder points on the pad are fine wire traces on top and bottom of the board that can easily be broken or over soldered... Check there first, with a fine magnifier. To answer your question, no, there are no resets or anything else you need to do to after the H/M install. Good Luck. Bill

The picture is all waves ,I get sound and color but the picture is all lines and waves, what part should I get??

To fix the shaky picture on the toshiba rear projection tv model number 42h83. You need to either replace the 13 capictors on the hyper module or simply replace the hyper module itself. It's cheaper to replace the caps, but you'll need decent soldering skills to do this. You can replace the entire hyper module with less soldering skills, but I believe the module costs about $100, maybe alittle more. You can find the entire fix by googleing "hyper module". Good luck and I hope this helps

Shakey screen

Needs to have the hyper module repaired... There are a group of caps on the hyper that need to be replaced... The hyper module is a stand-up board on the left looking in the back of the unit just behind the jack panel... Need to remove it and send in in for rebuild or attempt the repair yourself..

Toshiba 51h83 projection t.v. scrammbled lines across the screen.

I've seen this problem before with Toshiba sets. Normally it's been caused by the hyper module. Usually, the set is worst when first turned on and clears up some, if not completly after it warms up. The problem does get worst over time.
