no it does not need to be reseated. Most likely there are bad capacitors inside of it. The Hyper, or whats really a scan converter, is located right behind the input board. It is a square silver box. Good Luck
also i might add that the board does plug onto the signal board. the metal shield (or metal box that is part of the board is soldered under neath) hense it cannot become (UNSEATED) don't know were you heard that as techman said there are 11 10uf@25volt small metal caps that need to be changed ( i always change all 11 with 10uf at 50volt) to repair all kinds of symtoms like jagged images around images, after a while or warmup image might go completly out of hor sync (pix goes sideways) I have been doing this of 35 years and it's a chore (got my practice on mitz pip mod) i have the equipment (solder station) and i still have to be carefull. after you remove the plastic over the top ofthe hyper board as techman said it is a big metal box behind the imput board IE where you plug in you dvd, vidio game under the plastic over the top.DO NOT TRY TO PULL METAL BOX OUT WITHOUT UNSOLDERING THE METAL CASE UNDERNEATH don't know if your a tech or not but if i were a non tech i would not try this repair GOODLUCK DOC

it seems my tv remote sensor is faulty as my remote cannot turn on the tv, but it can turn on other electronic devices. i've called a repairman but was told it would be a $400 fix. i am wondering, could a digital converter box be a solution to this problem? if the sensor doesn't work, it seems to me the DVT converter would not be able to turn on/off the tv. am i correct? would buying one be just a waste of money?
