Pull off exhaust vent. Clean. Remove back cover. Clean all airways free of lint and debris. Is this electric or gas dryer? If electric, plug back in and run dryer. Is the heating element glow red? Yes, check and make sure that air is now flowing freely out the back of the exhaust vent. No, replace heating element.

Dryer does not heat constantly. It starts to heat then turns off the gas. I need to dissamble it to test the parts.

Sounds like a block in the exhaust. Remove exhaust pipe and clean pipe. This is a huge fire hazard and your dryer is likely saving you from a fire. Remove large back panel on dryer. Clean all passages that handle airflow from lint screen back to exhaust. Restart. If this does not work, be happy that it is now clean :) The issue is likely your flame sensor at this point. Looks a bit like a spark plug. Short term fix. Clean probe with a dollar bill. Seriously, a dollar bill. Replace and restart. Order a new flame sensor.

Dryer will heat for a few minutes ,then stop heating. it continues to spin.

It sounds like you have an exhaust problem. Check to see if you can feel the air blowing through the exhaust outside your home. If this isn't possible disconnect the vent from the wall and clamp a sock onto the exhaust of the machine. If it works properly you need the replace/clean the exhaust vent.

Is heat supposed to be felt out the back of unit? I feel heat coming from around the tube in one spot

Yes, it's normal for the exhaust heat to be warm. Because it's a combination of the compressor heating up and the hot air be exhausted out of the house.. However, with that said, make sure the exhaust hose is securely attached and that he is not a pin hole or two, in the exhaust hose near the coupling. Also, make sure that you clean the air intake filter clean regularly.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks,

I think your heating element is burned out. You can find parts at

If you remove the element (unplug it first of course) you will be able to tell if it is burned out by looking at the actual heating coils. If there are any breaks in the wire anywhere you know its the problem.

Good luck

Dryer not heating.

First clean out the exhaust vent tubing entirely and then try it. It may heat up very hot if thoroughly cleaned out. A moister sensor detects any lint build up and put the burner into a check mode that prevents home fires in the exhaust vents

I have a kenmore HE2 dryer and matching washer. It is 3 years old. It works and eventually clothes do dry. It does heat up. But it doesn't heat up as hot as it used to and it takes twice as long to dry...

Make sure you check your exhaust line and where the air blows to the outside. If your exhaust vent or hose is bent or restricted it will take a very long time to dry the clothes. Sometimes the vent flap on the outside exhaust is stuck shut. Clear dryer exhaust venting is critical for proper operation. Several companies offer a vent cleaning service where they completely clean out the exhaust lines.

Carrier Natural Gas Pack: Smell & Soot on exhaust tube

Time for a good cleaning. Make sure the heat exchanger is in good shape and is getting good heat flow over it to the exhaust. The odor may be an indication of a restriction in the heat exchanger, the flames are hitting something, improper air or gas adjustment or a blower not coming up to correct speed. You can access the heating unit from a side panel. Look for the exhaust port and start with that panel. Wasps nests are predominant in these things.

Whirlpool Model LE7010XSNO. No Heat After Lint Cleaned Out

Those are likely possibilities. Also check the wiring for disconnected or burned terminals especially in areas that get hot. The element comes out easily to visually check it for breaks. If that's OK I'd look at the safety thermostat.
