The proper thing to do would be to replace the inverter. The manufacture could have had problems with that inverter and changed the design. I run into a lot of problems with under valued components. If you just put in the same component, the problem is just going to happen again. Ask them to replace the inverter it should be under some kind of workmanship warranty since it has only been 2 weeks.
Good Luck

My rca L32HD31 tv stopped working suddenly no sound no picture just A yellow light on I took it to repair center said it was the converter and can"t get part I am A recovering cancer patient hardly watched...

With no sound and no picture it would not be the INVERTER, (no such part as "converter") You have a main board problem and it would cost around $300 to fix. These flat panel sets only last about 2 years, as much as they cost! You need to get a older type CRT television, pawn shops, tv shops, and yard sales have these, they are made much better than these newer sets and last 10 to 15 years or more. They also can be cheaply repaired when they breakdown.

I have a hitachi dlp ultravision tv and the color is yellowish green. i took to a repair shop and was told that it was the optical block and that it was going to cost around 900 dollars. i needed to know...

Yes, depending on the model the optics blocks are common failure on these sets. It is usually less expensive to replace the TV at this point.

R49W36 that cuts off and on

Hi, your other option is to talk to other repair shops in your area, or call zenith (LG) and ask for repair shops they recommend, tech u talked to wants the easy way out rather than troubleshooting the board to find the 1,2, or 3 parts that are actually bad, be advised that the good old zeniths are now owned by LG industries and contrary to the tv commercials that tell you "LG" = lifes good, it actually stands for lucky goldstar the korean outfit that has owned zenith for quite awhile now, sad but true, video-tek

Won't turn on

I want to save you time and money here.
A new TV just like the one you have at Walmart cost $189.

A TV repair shop will most likely charge you $100 just to look at it. And the part, Backlight Inverter/Power Supply Board ( I believe that is broken ) will cost $110 min ( That's a used part).

It would definitely cost more than $210 to repair the broken TV vs buying a replacement 19" TV at Walmart for $189.

I have the ultra 40 lcd tv same problems.

At this time I gave up on getting the back off and took it to another repair shop on 4/17. He said there would be no charge to take a look at it. He also said his experience was that 3 to 4 years was usually the life of most of the flat screen tv's and probably would cost hundreds of dollars and then something else could go bad. Waiting to see if he will have a cost effective solution.
