Msg waiting off

I have recently had this phone installed my office and I have voicemail set up through the phone company, which is wonderful...but I have this msg on my phone that says msg waiting off.
I would like to turn it on...this would be the best solution, any ideas of how to turn it on? The menu button doesn't help.
