My steamer also heats up but will not steam. I can't find my owner's manual, and need to know what to do to fix this problem. I tried poking a long metal rod in the hole, in case it was clogged, but this did not help.

icleaned everything it gets hot but steam will not come out

I removed all screws except the ones on the bottom (use a mini screwdriver) and took off all removable parts. I saw where the handle trigger presses a button (gold on my unit) which was stuck. I cleaned around the button, but it still stuck, so I used a bolt and hammer to hit the button. Good news--the unit now steams. Bad news--it's stuck in the open position and won't stop steaming while plugged in.

i also took mine apart.....hit that brass button with a small hammer and got it to work...........now it steams without me pressing the black button so no control over the steam.......i dont think you can win with this thing!

I posted this in the problem section, but it's also a partial solution:

I found that my wife had used tap water which is from a well and that caused a buildup on piston which was stuck closed. I took the handle apart and sprayed some lube on it which freed it up.The piston only travels/opens up about an1/8 to a 1/16th of an inch. Hope this helps.

I have been told that you can use a can of WD40 and lubricate the hoses and nozzle.  Try this I hope it works.  I have a Scunci too, but I haven't had this problem yet, I got it almost 2 years ago.

Scunci steamer will not heat up

Take the bottom off (Just break it after you get the two normal screws out), find the white wire from the element, bridge the offending fuse located under the special insulation, with a piece of wire, if you cant replace it, re assemble, and steam away. If the lack of that fuse worries you, don't do this, just pitch it.

My scunci steam cleaner has a white build up and is clogged. How can i clean it?

I had not used my scunci for a few months and now it is completely clogged. I tried vinegar over night and removed a lot of sediment, but it is still not working. My last shot was going to be to use lime-away. Any suggestions. All parts look in mint condition, but it just doesn't work.

My Scunci MS 1000 heats and builds up steam, but the steam does not release from the spout when the release button is pushed. Plenty of pressure is built up inside (escapes when cap is opened). What is the problem?
