Hello. Thanks for choosing FixYa!

I have found a link to the service manual of your product:
http://printer.konicaminolta.com/service/ASP/mc2300/documentation_manuals/mc2300SM.pdf

This will help explain everything in detailed steps, it will also explain any tools or preparation that needs to be taken before making a replacement or repair.

I would not be nervous at all about replacing the fuser. This is a common user replaceable part, which means the manufacture has gone to great lengths to make it as user friendly as possible to replace.

A word of caution, be careful handling the fuser if the machine was printing shortly before replacing the fuser. This will cause the fuser to be moderately to extremely hot. This is one of your only precautions regarding this replacement.

Instructions for replacing the fuser (Fusing Unit) can be found on page 95 of the service manual.

To avoid any issues with the service manual click the disk icon to save it to your computer. I suggest selecting desktop when the box asks to save, or anywhere your comfortable with and can easily access it.

If you need anything else, please let us know.
If you found this information helpful please take a moment to rate it.

I have Konica Minolta 4650 DN. I printed out a dark picture and put the paper back in the printer by accident. Now all my pages print smudged broken lines going down the paper. Please help me!

Just print 20 or 30 pages with nothing, or only a little dot or something. Your printer is polluted and needs to be cleaned. Sometimes it is enough just to run a few empty pages. If this isn't enough, look at your manual how to clean your drum and fusing unit.

OKI c5200 fuser is jamming, How to CLEAN IT b4 I try replacing it

There are not set instructions to clean the fuser rollers on the 5K range of printers from Oki, this is designed to be a consumable that is replaced at regular intervals through the printers life. this means there is little access to the rollers. Firstly, remove the fuser from the printer and allow it to cool down. At the rear of the fuser, on most models there is a flap that can be opened to give very limited access to the rollers. All that can really be done is to wipe the rollers with a soft cloth to remove any debris that has built up and turn the rollers using the gears on the side. The blue lever on top of the Fuser can be used to separate the rollers to make the task a little easier.

HP2420 Manual

Are you sure it's not the transfer roller that you want to replace?? this is the roller which sits directly under the toner cartridge, the fuser sits more towards the rear of the printer. I'll list instructions for removing both. Hope this helps

To remove the transfer roller -
1. Release the left end of the transfer roller by using needle-nose pliers to pinch two tabs at
the left end of the transfer roller.
2. Use the needle-nose pliers in the same manner to release the other end.
3. Lift the transfer roller out of the printer.
The left end of the transfer roller has a spring attached. At the right end of the roller, the
spring is attached to the printer rather than to the roller. As a result, the spring at the right
end remains in the printer.

To remove the fuser -
1. Remove the back cover and the I/O cover.
2. Remove the fuser-cable cover by releasing one tab on the cover, and then
rotating the back of the cover toward the center of the printer.
3. Remove the duplexer inlet guide by releasing two tabs on the guide, and then
sliding the guide toward the back of the printer.
Reinstallation tip
Make sure that both tabs snap back into place when reinstalling the duplexer inlet guide.
4. Disconnect two cables at the left, inside, of the printer.
5. Disconnect the fuser cable at the right side of the printer.
6. Remove four screws securing the fuser.
7. Tilt the fuser slightly toward the back of the printer, and then slide the fuser out of the
back of the printer.

To remove the back cover -
1. Open the face-up delivery door all the way, and then press the door down to disengage
two door-stops.
2. Remove two screws
3. Close the face-up delivery door, and then tip the printer so that it rests on its front.
4. Open the "legal-size" cover, and then disengage one tab.
5. Lift the bottom of the cover first, and then lift the cover away from the printer.
6. Tip the printer back so that it rests on its feet.
To remove the io cover (looking at the printer from the rear, this is the small cover on the left side) -
1. Rotate the I/O cover to clear tabs at the right side of the cover.
2. Lift the cover off of the printer.

Wrinkling in fuser area

If there wasn't wrinkling before the guide was changed, check for alaingment of the guide and any minor obstructions. Also, check the condition of the fuser rollers especially the lower pressure roller. Check for wear and the clear sleeve "gathering up", (if applicable. Did you do anything to change the pressure of the roller?

How to change the drum on 2300 DL

Turn off printer.
Open side door, remove waste toner box.
Lift blue bar (in direction of arrow) to release drum assembly.
Grip tab as shown in small image, press and pull drum assembly out of its slot.
Take NEW drum and slide back into its slot, pressing it into place over the metal guide pin.
Pull yellow tab to remove protective film from drum (discard this).
Lower blue bar to engage drum.
Replace waste toner box, close side door, turn printer back on and let it cycle to start.

That should be all there is to it.

Media jam transfer roller

We have a Xerox 6120 which is mechanically identical to the 2430. It was reporting media jams. We determined after removal and careful inspection that the fuser roller and fuser pressure roller had been damaged by what looked like someone attempting to clear a jam with a sharp object. I cannot speak re: the 2430, but the fuser in the 6120 is not a FRU. The construction of the fuser doesn't tolerate any flaws on either surface. There was more paper jammed in the fuser where we couldn't see it until we had the fuser out of the printer. We are shopping for a new printer as the repairs will cost more than we paid for the printer.

Line across paper from Canon iR2016 copier

The line may simply be the optics (mirrors) are dirty. Take a lens cloth or a very soft cloth with 91% alcohol (just alittle bit) and clean them and the exposure glass. That should do the trick. You can also use this method on the rollers as well. Just make sure the fuser roller is cool to the touch first.
