Scanner failure align the cartridge

To Align the new ink cartridge

The HP All-in-One prompts for an alignment of the cartridges every time a print cartridge is installed or replaced. Follow these steps to align the print cartridges from the control panel.
  1. Load unused, plain, white letter, A4, or legal paper into the input tray. note.png
NOTE:If colored paper is loaded in the input tray when the print cartridges are aligned, the alignment will fail. Load unused, plain, white paper into the input tray, and then try the alignment again.
  2. Press Setup.
  3. Press 6 to select Tools.
  4. Press 2 to select Align Print Cartridge.
The unit prints a print cartridge alignment sheet.
  5. Load the alignment sheet print-side down and top first in the center of the document feeder tray, and then press OK.

Reading no paper paper tray is full

  1. Check the display for an error message. If the display reads "Clearing paper from printer," the engine has detected a jam and is attempting to eject the jammed pages automatically. These pages will often be blank.
  2. Check the display for "Performing PRINT/STOP TEST" or "Performing SERVICE TEST." Either of these messages indicates that the printer is going through a test procedure that may eject blank pages.
  3. Reduce the amount of paper in the input tray if the printer is feeding multiple blank sheets at a time. The printer will pull extra pages through if the input tray is overfilled.
  4. Replace the paper in the input tray with the correct size if needed. If the 4600 printer detects the paper as an incorrect size for the print job, it may eject the paper without printing anything on it.
  5. Replace the ink cartridges if certain colors are blank on the page. Replace the black cartridge if printing a black text document that is coming out blank. The printer may attempt to print even if the ink level is low or empty, but will unable to print anything on the page, causing it to come out blank.
  6. Remove the sealing tape from newly installed cartridges. The tape covers the print heads and should be removed before installing the cartridges. If the tape is left on, it will prevent ink from getting on the pages as they print.
  7. Press the "Check mark" button on the control panel to enter the printer menu. Run a diagnostic so the printer can attempt to determine the cause of the blank pages printing. Press the up or down arrow to select "Diagnostics." Press the "Check mark" button. Press the "Down" arrow to highlight "PQ Troubleshooting." Press the "Check mark" button. The printer runs a diagnostic and returns to a ready state when done.

The ink system has failed and can not longer print

Note: one line descriptions are difficult to troubleshoot.

Please get back to us with the following information

* What is the exact error message?
* Where exactly you are receiving this error message?
* Does the same issue persists even after replacing the cartridge?
* Any lights are blinking on the unit?
* Does the unit print a self test page? Steps are given below:
  1. Load the input tray with unused plain white paper.
  2. Press and hold the Cancel (c00636162.gif ) button and then press the Start Copy Color (c00636190.gif ) button.
  3. Release both buttons. The self-test page prints.
Please get back to me with the above information for further troubleshooting

Lanier 5645 cannot reset printer red button just keeps coming on

when you press the 'red' button, it probably says 'paper mismatch, or load "XXX" paper, and you can override it by selecting one of your paper trays manually? It is likely a "legal size document' and you don't have legal size paper loaded, or something along those lines. Try printing the document after manually selecting the paper size/tray (turning off auto paper select) in your printer preferences dialog box on your PC first.

I have experienced this before...
Disconnect the printer and remove the installed drivers, that is to remove the virus-infected file or a corrupt printer driver.

Now re-install the printer and the driver.

Fixya me on this one...
