Question about HP PSC 1315 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Printer was briefly disconnected. Cannot get it to function now.

Printer was disconnected to install a different computer. The printer was not redone once computer was installed. No longer have the initial "set up" disc that came with the printer. Is there a way to get the printer to function without this disc?

The simplest way is to download the driver and software from the manufacturers website. Go to: http://www.hp.com and search for your printer.

Error message from printer properties : Can not print test page. This operation can not be completed. Take note that printer self-test is working and from printing option cleaning cartrige work perfectly....


You need first to do the following:

Check first a different usb cable ( be the case).

Check that the printer is the default printer or you are not printing to a different printer installed in windows

Do driver setup procedure.

Disconnect printer from usb.

Go to 'installed printers' and remove the printer from windows (right click and delete). If you have documents in printer cue you may need to purge documents in cue.

Restart computer (printer disconnected).

Re-install drivers from disk (printer disconnected).

Only connect printer to usb when required by printer install software or after installing software.

If the above did not work the printer can be faulty, in this case usually it shows some dignostic message, like flashing red light etc.

Check also that is not a windows problem, by installing in on a different computer (get a laptop) and printing a test page.

Error 49 is a firmware error. Try following these steps:

1. Press CANCEL JOB to clear the print job from the printer memory. 2. Turn the printer off, and then turn the printer on. You can try reprinting the job to see if it was a temporary error. 3. If error persists, try printing a job from a different software application. If the alternate job prints, go back to the first application and try printing a different file. If the message persists with different software applications and print jobs, disconnect all cables to the printer that connect it to the network or printer. Turn the printer off and delete the print queue. Then reboot printer AND computer, reconnect cables, and try printing again. 6. When I try to scan or print a message comes up telling me to ck power and usb connections. I have unplugged and restarted computer 4 times and still have problem


It could be a communications error message, the printer is not communicating with the computer.

  • Disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable.
  • Disconnect and then reconnect the printer power cable.
  • Restart the computer.
  • Remove and reinstall the printer software

  • If your printer does not function properly or communication error messages appear when using your printer, you can remove and reinstall the printer software.
    1. Click Start®Programs or All Programs®Dell Printers®Dell Photo AIO Printer 962®Uninstall Dell Photo AIO Printer 962.

    2. Follow the instructions on the computer screen to remove the printer software.

    3. Restart your computer before installing the software again.

    4. Insert the Drivers and Utilities CD, and then follow the instructions on the computer screen to install the software.

    If the installation screen does not appear:

      1. In Windows XP, click Start®My Computer.

    In Windows 2000, double-click My Computer from your desktop.

      1. Double-click the CD-ROM drive icon. If necessary, double-click setup.exe.

    Printer problem


    Sounds like a hardware problem. Try connecting the printer to a different computer (plug and play) and then install the software. Try a different cable.
    Silly question but is power getting to the printer?

    The computer is not reading the installation cd for the computer so i can't used the printer cause it is not installed.. can i get the installation program


    if you have the printer cd,first uninstall all printer software,inplug printer also. take cd out restart computer.when redone rebooting ,reinstall cd,after complete installation restart computer,leaving cd in drive. when computer is booted back up again,plug in printer and you should be fine,if not go to control panel and on the left hand coner of your screen it should say add printer,click on that and follow the wizards step through.good luck.hope i helped u

    My install disk is cracked


    You can easily download the drivers and softwares provided with your cs from the canon website. Just goto their support webpage and selct your printer model and download all necessary things from there.
