Question about NEC VT460 Multimedia Projector

Open Question

Blue/Green hue at the outer edges

Hi, I have just bought a NEC VT460 projector, for absolute peanuts. The current lamp is 80% used and I have stripped down the projector and cleaned off all the lenses (tons of dust !!) etc, which has improved the light output, but I have a green one side and blue the other side hue creeping in vertically at the sides of the screen. What needs adjustment to bring this projector back into line !!! Is there a service manual available ?? I have bought a new bulb, but want the projector to be working properly before I install it.

Also, does anyone know how to strip down the lens housing for cleaning, the part where the R,G,B inputs are. There are 2 further lenses inside which I cannot access ??? and are full of dust.

Right, I bought a can of Compressed Air and gave the LCD panels a thorough blast and I appeared to have a misaligned/damaged fly eye lens, which I repaired and realigned.

The projector is now almost 100% better than when it arrived.

My only problem now is adjusting the convergence which is slightly out. can anyone advise on how this is done. I am a radio/electronic technician so have access to some test equipment if required and am obviously technically minded.

Above are your manuals for use and repair.

Sometimes there is a resettable thermal fuse near the lamp, this may have to be reset before it will go again. Sometimes there is a "Counter" to be reset too, but not always.

Pink shade more in NEC WT-610 PROJECTOR

Using the on screen menu, check the hue or wall color settings. [Hue]
Varies the color level from +/- green to +/-blue. The red level is used as reference. This adjustment is only valid for
Video, Component and TV standard inputs (not valid for RGB and DVI digital).

Using the Wall Color Correction [Wall Color]
This function allows for quick adaptive color correction in applications where the screen material is not white.
The following nine options are available.
• OFF • Blackboard
• Blackboard (Gray) • Light yellow
• Light green • Light blue
• Sky blue • Light rose
• Pink

Whatever button i press the status light flashes and nothing happens?

hi 1) Check that the power cable is plugged in and that the power button on the projector cabinet or the remote control is on. See pages E-16 and 17 in the manual http://www.fixya.com/user-guide/p155892,m5221,gm34/NEC-VT460-Multimedia-Projector.aspx 2) Ensure that the lamp cover or lamp housing is installed correctly. See page E-30. 3) Check to see if the projector has overheated or the lamp has reached the end of its usable life. If there is insufficient ventilation around the projector or if the room where you?re presenting is particularly warm, move the projector to a cooler location 4) You have pressed control panel key when Control Key Lock is enabled good luck
