I can not get volume on my media player if i go online to watch movies

Most probably your Media Player does not support audio formats from the online movies. You can download & install the codec "K-Lite Mega Codec Pack or K-Lite Codec Pack" latest version from http://www.free-codecs.com/download/k_lite_codec_pack.htm

You can install Free Media Players for your OS e.g. MPCStar or VLC Player which can play most of the AV formats from the web.

Hope it helps.

That the windows media player is unable to paly some movies it show the message wvc1 codec is required to paly this file.

You need CODECS for some DIVX files.

Use other media players like Media Player Classic instead.

Download from the following link

In utorrent after downloading a movie and playing it the usual screen does not come instead a skin appears!!!

I will assume that you mean movies and/or short flicks that are not copyrighted. You may to add codecs to play different style movies. If you are using XP. Find and install xp codec pack. You should be able to find it on this site here:

My windows media player wont play movies

Try downloading VLC player, if this does not play your videos then it is your Drive that needs a driver update or has gone bad. If VLC player does play it or asks you to install mpeg2 codecs, then all you need to do is google "mpeg2 codec download for windows media player X" (X being the current version of WMplayer you are using). The reason behind this problem is that Windows media player does not come preloaded with a full library of codecs, there are packages of codecs that you can download such as divx codecs that will have the majority of commonly used video compression decompressors.

Have downloaded movie from utorrent have audio but no visual.Am trying to view using vista windows media centre

Do you have all of the proper codecs? Try using something called GOM Player. It will ask you to download a couple codecs before you can watch it, but i completely believe this is the issue.

I have a toshiba A205-S4617 Laptop which had Vista Home Premium . Now i have downgraded it to XP pro sp2 but i am getting some Audio problems. The music and movis playing at half the speed ...it sounds...

OK ! As far as I can tell, (hopefully) you have installed corrupted audio drivers for the laptop. Its an issue that I have come accross 1 month ago. I fixed it by doing the following...

Installing the latest audio drivers for the downgrade of XP.
Installing the latest audio/video codecs for Windows XP.
Installing the latest Direct X redistribute
Uninstalling the windows update:MSWindowsHighDefinitionAudio

These three (Audio/Video Codecs, Audio Drivers and Direct X) are responsible for "decoding" your Movies and Music. If they are outdated or their host application is corrupt, they can cause sum grief to your multimedia.

Also, a very rare issue could be that you're selected (If you are using Windows Media Player 9-11) the speed settings. It could be that the speed settings are set to low. To troubleshoot this, simply download and install 3party apps like WINAMP (for audio) and VLC / VLan Player (for Video) and open your music or video with either one of the mentioned apps...
