Is it possible to control the master volume with some keyboard shortcut? I would prefer it to be without a use of some additional software. But if it isn't possible then the software should be pretty light-weight and not consume a lot of CPU/RAM. Thank you for your help.
PS: I DON'T intend to buy a multimedia keyboard for that.
Yes,you can create a Master Volume Shortcut and also assign a Shortcut Key.
Right click on a empty area on desktop, and click on New and Shortcut.
Paste the following in to the location of the item area:-
%windir%\System32\SndVol.exe -f 49825268
Click Next button and give a name to the Shortcut and click Finish.
Now You right click on it and select Properties.
Click Shortcut tab.
Assign your desired shortcut key like F8 or F9 in the Shortcut Key area.
1> Charge the battery sufficiently to support the mobile phone for at least 20 mins (an approx. Tab reset time).
2> Make sure the memory card slot is empty in order to save the content from the memory card inserted.
1> The mobile should be switched off first of all.
2> After this, the power button and the volume up button are pressed together for sometime which in a few seconds takes the mobile in the boot mode. The confirmation of reaching this boot environment is the appearance of the Android robot with its stomach open with an exclamation (!) mark.
3> Let's press the Home button to read the menu available in the boot phase.
4> Navigate using the volume keys and select the 4th option.
5> Now you will select that option by touching the shortcut button.
6> Immediately the factory reset will begin and soon one can read the rest-confirmation on the screen.
7> Now select the reboot option using the shortcut key and wait for some time for the mobile to reboot.
This restores the original factory settings and erases all downloaded content, including ringtones, images, programs, and contacts stored in the internal memory.
Turn the phone OFF.
Turn on the device by holding both the Volume Up key and Volume Down key while pressing the Power key.
When the Android System Recovery screen displays, release the keys.
Using the volume keys, scroll to Wipe Data / Factory Reset.
Press the Power key to confirm.
Using the volume keys, scroll to Yes - Delete all user data.
Once complete, press the Power key.
Once complete, press the Volume Down key to scroll to Reboot System Now.
Press the Power key to confirm.

F5 is the default screen refresh for many laptops. If there is a volume change feature on your laptop which also uses F5, chances are it is a Feature enabled key. To make the volume work, look on your laptop for a key most with blue letters that is printed with the letters "Fn"
Hold down this key while pressing the F5 key. This should adjust the volume correctly. Did it work. Please post your feedback and let me know.
