Question about Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 160GB 7200rpm 100MBps Ultra ATA/100 (ATA-6) Internal (ST3160021AFT) Hard Drive
Hello sir iam kotesh. my problem is once i put superviser pasword but now i forgotten that password.in order to make bios settings it will ask password.how to solve this problem.
Hi Kotesh, If the PC concerned is a desktop and you can open it up and see the motherboard, it is possible to reset the CMOS/BIOS. This action will set the CMOS/BIOS to default, remove all personal configurations including any password(s) that you may have set. The reset jumper normally is very near the Lithium battery If it were a laptop, then that's another issue. Most present day laptops for purposes of security made it a point to really protect passwords such as this. Some older laptop versions have a total reset button underneath. Still others also have a battery that you can remove to reset the CMOS/BIOS. Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back with details of your PC's brand/model or at the very least your motherboard. Good luck and kind regards.

you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator as user to log
in if you cant log in
the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press
a certain key to enter set up press and
hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user
password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from
most common way that we know on how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to
physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug
and then removing the Cmos battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard. Another
way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself. Both of the 2
methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the
BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. So by cutting off cmos the
battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased.
