Question about Daewoo GB-20H4T2 20 in. TV/VCR Combo
I have a Daewoo GB20H1TS; the original remote was lost some time ago and the tv itself was rarely used until we got Virgin TV in. It was only then we discovered that the widescreen setting on the tv had been changed before the remote was lost and is now vertically stretched. While it is possible to change the Virgin TV's widescreen, all of the options look distorted because the tv is set to the wrong widescreen setting. We ordered a Generic remote control which is (mostly) compatable with the TV but forgot to specify it was needed to control the widescreen and the generic remote doesnt have widescreen buttons. Planning on getting it replaced with the actual remote but after looking at pictures online I cant seem to find the buttons that control the widescreen. If anyone can describe how to use the GB20H1TS remote to change the widescreen setting that'd be great; or if anyone knows a cheap generic thats compatable and has widescreen control buttons that'd b cool too.

Sometimes the universal remotes are tricky. If you don't purchase one that is specifically recommended by the manufacturer, you won't get full functionality. Here is a generic that is "replacement" for that remote:
Here is another place that has the replacement and an alternative: http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&uuid=12257602513440&smodel=48B4139A02&brand_pn=DAEWOO_48B4139A02
Hope this was helpful, have a great day!

I don't know where you live or what TV stations are available, but many stations have already changed to digital before the new deadline. If the TV is still in good operating condition, I would get a converter rather than purchase a new set. You can still get a coupon at: http://www.dtv.gov/getcoupon.html
Good luck and thanks for using Fixya.
