I have a 2007 rx 350,it is a petrol engine. It cranks over as normal, but wont start.the battery is brand new. It has a full tank of petrol, the engine oil level is good, the trasmission oil is good.

Nick, I would start with the easiest things first and do a simple elimination until you figure out exactly why it won't start. #1 Spark plugs. #2 Spark plug wires. #3 ignition coils.#4 air/fuel filter. #5 Fuel injectors. #6 Fuel pump. #7 Electronic control module(ECM)/computer. If these things I have stated are replaced with new, then there is no reason it shouldn't start. I gave you this list as easiest to hardest to replace. You may find that the problem is only with the spark plugs, then obviously you have detected the issue and do not need to continue replacing components. I hope this helps, and good luck. ^^

Hyundai coupe loud bubbling sound from petrol tank when ignition is turned on

this sound is from your petrolpump starting to get pressure to the rest of your petrol system. when your tank is full you dont hear this sound so good becase the pump is then submerged in petrol in your tank.

Just brought new mech choice 25cc petrol line trimmer put petrol with oilmix in ,follwed instructions cant get it to start why,did we miss something out in getting it to start

How did you mix the fuel? Best to make it up in a jerry can. Mix the fuel and oil in the can. It may well be flooded. Try starting with ignition on, choke open and full throttle, might take up to ten pulls.

Honda 2004 CBR 125 R with 50,000 km smell of petrol in the oil

Hi, Anonymous you're getting ready to go riding you pull out the dipstick to check your oil level and are greeted with the unmistakable smell of gasoline. What happens next depends on the following:
1. You have experienced this before and do not start the engine but do change your oil and filter leaving it 1 quart low until the engine reaches operating temperature then top off as necessary.
2. The amount of time your bike has been sitting since the last time the engine was running.
3. The amount of gas and contaminants in the tank.
4. The oil pump location, exterior or interior.
5. The condition of your petcock gasket/seal/diaphragm.
If your gas tank was low and you start the engine probably nothing you would notice but if your gas tank was full and you start your engine the oil/gas mixture can blow into your air filter, come streaming out of your crankcase breather hose, and launch your oil tank cap followed by a blast of oil. The mess can be minor or you need to call a Hazmat team for assistance. This will also happen if you overfill your oil tank.
Next is the how and why gas can get into your oil tank/system:
a. The vacuum petcock rubber/diaphragm fails, which allows gas to flow from the fuel tank through the petcock, through the vacuum line into the intake manifold, then into the combustion chamber, where it seeps past the piston rings and into the bottom end.
3. Nonvacuum petcocks that are not turned to the off position will patiently wait until contaminants from the gas tank build up in between the carburetor needle and seat breaking the seal thus inviting gas to enter the combustion chamber eventually finding it's way into the bottom end and the oil tank.

I have just bought a 1988 vespa px 125 under the seat there is 2 holes one for the petrol and one that says oil ive put 2 stroke oil in the oil tank and petrol in the petrol tank today i hit 50 and the...

older Vespas without separate Oil-tanks need a premix of 1:50 oil in the gasoline - but yours is an automatic oil-mixer type.
check the oil-level-glass under the seat near the choke.
it must be full of oil - the oil tank can hold about 1 liter of 2-stroke oil. How much oil did you fill in?
Probably the previous owner removed the oil supply tube and filled always an oil-gasoline premix. You better ask him about it. If the tube was removed then there was no oil supplied to your engine and it got stuck and the engine bearings are blown.

I have an aprilia rx125 2008 & the oil petrol mixing system has been blocked off and now petrol & oil are mixed in the petrol tank, but the bike starts for 3-5seconds then stops & petrol comes out of

Hi Steve, and the usual suspects are:
1. Damaged or restricted fuel tank venting system.
2. Loose float bowl screws.
3. Damaged float bowl o-ring.
4. improper fuel level in the float bowl.
5. Worn or dirty inlet valve or seat.
6. Damaged or leaking float assembly.
7. Particle contamination in inlet fitting cavity.

I have put a higher grade petrol in my yamaha dtr 125 and now now it wont start it is a model 2007 model

I doubt the high grade of gas has anything to do with not starting, what I suspect is your oil injection reservoir tank is low and the sensor is shutting off the ignition

Gas is spitting out the exhaust when I try to start the mower. If it does come on it doesn't stay on long. Can anyone help me solve my problem ?????

sounds like the engine has wet sumped and is extremly full of diluted oil / petrol

does your oil smell like petrol and is very thin if wet sump indicated

remove tank and carb , clean tank, clean carby and replace fuel needle and seat - check float for hole reset fuel level and reassemble , adjust governor , drain and refill engine oil and replace air filter and plug, , check valve clearance and reset iff need

might pay to fit in line fuel tap too

have a look and let me know what you found

cheers paul
