I found part of the problem-case fan was disconnected. computer will boot and stay on but I now have a red-magenta screen instead of blue like it was.

there is no writing or messages on the screen it is blank

Can't get to anything. Blank screen that is magenta but computer is working, lights on etc. The fan was the case fan not the cpu fan or power supply that was disconnected. I'm thinking the video card-ATI Xtasy 9200 may be bad. Can't figure a way to check it. Help

No nothing changes. Tryed F1, F2, DEL, F8 and the same thing is there. Blank red screen.

if you have power and the RAM sticks and everything is seated correctly then there must be a problem either with the cpu or the CMOS chip (both can be replaced)

if F2 dosen't work try DEL or F1

if the unit goes on-- then you must be able to get to the BIOS (set-up screen) and soon as you power on try hitting F2 every 2 seconds

okay so you have power- can you get into the BIOS setup? also if your fan was disconnected that could be very harmful to the cpu as it would overheat

are there any lights ON on the motherboard? while the unit is off? what about the back of the tower? if not probably your power supply

ah the imfamous Blue Screen Of Death? dose it say windows is shutting down due to fatal error or something like that? could be a coorupt or missing driver-try booting into safe-mode and from there you can see if its a driver problem

My acer wnt start up or boot is bios missing dll blue screen is all i ger

If you have a boot menu the problem is likely not the Bios. No beep codes? Some PC's will give hardware error codes in the form of long and short beeps through the MB speaker. Otherwise a bad boot sector on the hard drive would likely give you an error message, like ; NTLDR is missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart
Check the power and ribbon wire connections to the hard drive. If you have recovery disc/'s, doesnt hurt to try! Otherwise its a new operating system, new hard drive, and searching for drivers. Good luck to you!

When start up my Emachine E525 the laptop the screen is blank, then after a while if any key is pressed a bleeping sound is made the some system language appears on the screen saying: 'For Atheros...

It seemed that the laptop is booting to the network to correct this
1. Go to the BIOS Check if the hard drive is detected by the computer (Hard drives are usually shown as alpha numeric) 2. If the hard drive is detected make sure that the hard drive is the first boot device 3. Save all changes and restart the computer 4. If the hard drive is still not detected you have to take out the hard drive and put it back in (reseat the hard drive) 5. Go to the BIOS again check if the hard drive is detected if not replace the hard drive

Hope this helps

I get blue screen when shutting down my windows 7

The blue screen of death is a serious problem. One ofthe causes could be overheating or could be because the graphics card isdamaged and doesn't work anymore. Try to use Registry cleaner and be freeof blue screen errors

I am unable to boot up this morning. I have loads of stuff on my hard drive and I am desperate. The screen comes up blue and will not do more than that.

Just a blank blue screen means it's having trouble loading a certain program.
Blue screen with an error is a whole other matter.

You should be able to press Ctrl-Shift-Escape and open task manager. Click New Task. Type explorer and click ok.

Good luck. Hope this helps you! Please leave a rating if so!

I reciently installed a bigger HD and now I get the"blue screen from hell"!! How can I get it to boot on the new HD?,Ray

did you format the hard drive first?
typically you need to format the hard drive using the NTFS file system before you install your operating system.

does your bios recognize the hard drive?
make sure your bios detects the hard drive.

can you boot your computer in Safe Mode? If so, do that and use your error log to find the specific cause of the blue screen,

lastly post the blue screen error message on here to get a better answer.

Blue screen

A blue screen means operating system error. Your operating system will have to be either repaired or reinstalled using your recovery disc or operating system disc. A blue screen can also occur with a hard drive failure/crash. It's about 50/50 between system error and hard drive failure. If you have any issues or problems during or after the repair/reload of the operating system, then it's the hard drive and it will need to be replaced.
